I was on Kobatochans discord and what i read there was crazy. it was about kobatochan wanting to test out an login so only members could read the novels with the exemption of the first chapters. so the dicsussion went to how many people woudl not bother to regsiter and kobato says he/she does it for the readers because of the aggregators. so i thought of starting a discussion here. would you register or would you just drop their novels?
Eh I don't really mind registering. I mean its still free so what's the harm? But if you don't want to register then go ahead and drop the novels. Its your choice :/
would register, but so would the aggreagator so it would all be pointless and only force me to have an extra account. if possible to make it so that NU account could be used would be fantastic
Personally drop, I understand aggregators are a issue but they will simply register and keep doing what they are doing instead you will lose traffic
I would register. Sadly readers end up hurting themselves. For most consistent translators this is a business If there are making a loss then they will fold Entitled users or users who don't care are hurting themselves
I get that they'll just register. That's why it's a bad solution. But from an isolated perspective, then I would just register.
I would register as I'm unlikely to drop stories for such a minor inconvenience. However, as stated above, it won't help as the aggregator would register too. Maybe it having an account would make things easier to track and ban from the site though?
Yes but people like me would also not register resulting in less views less money for the site also redundancy no point in making people register if it does not improve the situation
They would totally get me..... If it wasn't that I use a secondary mail not associated with the important one to register to sites that aren't things like PayPal or facebook
Maybe a script that make recognizable copy-pasted text with an identifier associated to the accounts (programmer noob here I don't know if it's possible)
I would register, it's free , it's not like you need to register everytime you want to read a chapter you do it for the first time and that's it. ppl who posted here also needed to register was that an issue for you ?
No need. Most aggregation only needs HTML. That means most of them wouldn't even need to disable JavaScript because most of them wouldn't even have it in the first place. Disabling copy-pasting from the browser only affects normal, average users; not programs.
