Web Novel: https://ncode.syosetu.com/n5214bb/ Novel Illustration: Description: Chrono(real name Kurono) Crawford, a noble of the Cepheus Empire, had a secret. It was that he came from a different world… From modern Japan. He didn't know how or why he was sent here, he wasn't bestowed with any "cheat" abilities and his knowledge of modern technology was only that of a teenager's. A young man with modern values in a savage world, he is abandoned by his superiors, left in command of the Empire’s rejects consisting of demi-humans such as Minotaurs, Dwarves, and Elves, and thrust into a position as head of a poor fiefdom. Chrono will do everything he can to rebuild and strengthen his forces and revitalize the land, aided in part by his knowledge from the other world. He is also aided by many capable women and becomes a harem king. Why It Should Get Picked Up: This series takes a little time to find its identity. It starts in a somewhat confusing manner: We see the main character as a soldier in the middle of a war, years after he was sent to this world, and we are suddenly introduced to a large number of supporting characters. But after some chapters the series develops some endearing traits. - The main character is interesting. He doesn't have any 'cheat' power and is actually weaker than many of his supporting cast, and his knowledge from Earth is also limited, but he finds ways to make it work to develop his territory through trial and error and help from a large number of talented subordinates. - There is a funny romance / harem element. Chrono's shamelessness about having relationships with beautiful girls around him and amassing multiple lovers is enjoyable to read, and most of the girls get lots of screentime and character development. They also play important roles in the story and aren't simply accessories. - There are dark elements, like poverty, corruption, discrimination against demihumans, slavery, civil war etc. that can be seen throughout the story and these are handled it a believable way. It's not an all-time classic like Mushoku Tensei, but it's a good story that's quite successful in Japan with 9 volumes published till now. The Light Novel version is somewhat different from the original web novel with new chapters, expanded content and excellent art. The first 2 volumes were translated but the site that was translating it has shut down.
The web novel just ended last week, after nearly a decade. Thank you, Ayumu sensei. https://ncode.syosetu.com/n5214bb/
https://infinitenoveltranslations.net/records-of-chronos-wars-volume-1-prologue-the-beginning/ Thank you! But is it necessary to redo from the beginning? As the translation from the previous group up to Vol 2 is fairly good.
What translation? I didn't see anything listed on NU. The page of hasutsuki.com, if you're talking about them, is down. All I could find online was the WN (edited MTL as far as I could tell on a brief look) and one volume in Spanish (which I don't speak). Edit: Nevermind, I missed the link to the aggregator. And, answering your question: Yes, I prefer to do so.
