Thanks for all the input. I'm most probably going to buy the i7-7700 with 1060 since my main concern would be gaming. As for other work, it likely would not be that intensive that it would require the processing power of the 8750h.

Scar II just release yesterday , might take time before sold in your country.
    Look at the spec https://www.asus.com/Laptops/ROG-Strix-SCAR-II/Tech-Specs/
Better CPU and GPU + more max FPS

Comparing their prices on newegg and Amazon, the GTX 1060 version of the Scar II is $300-400 more expensive than the equivalent Scar Edition. The upgraded display panel is nice, and the 8th gen CPU is also a bonus. If price isn't a factor, the Scar II is a definite upgrade over the Scar Edition.

Comparing a laptop that's still on preorder in the US to an older laptop that's being discounted to make room for newer stock isn't exactly fair. All the same, for the $1700 MSRP of the Scar II with the 1060, you can get an older laptop with a GTX 1070 and 7700HQ, which is probably a better value.

It might break the budget, but the AERO 15 and 15X look incredible for both gaming and productivity.
