It so happens that a new "Tradition??" is manifesting itself in Death Row Inmates where before their given their death sentence they get their last meal. Of course they get to choose what food they'll have for their last meal. And for some reason the price can't go above $40 in Florida and has to be made locally...Anyways here are some meals that death row inmates ordered. Victor Feguer, 28 years old, Iowa — kidnap and murder, death by lethal injection in 1963 Single olive with the pit in it (Henry Hargreaves) John Wayne Gacy, 52 years old, Illinois — rape and 33 counts of murder, death by lethal injection in 1994 12 fried shrimp, bucket of original recipe KFC, french fries, a pound of strawberries (Henry Hargreaves) Ted Bundy, 43 years old, Florida — rape, necrophilia, prison escape, 35+ counts of murder, death by electric chair in 1989 Declines a "special" meal, so was given the traditional last meal: steak (medium rare), eggs (over easy), hash browns, toast with butter and jelly, milk, juice (Henry Hargreaves) That's all since I don't want two pages worth of pictures but if you want to know more/see more pictures here's the source http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-e...s-requested-for-their-last-meal-a7008961.html (All credit goes to them)
Well it is similar to last wish death row prisoner gets from ancient times I guess. USA is pretty cheap about it though.
It depend really on what state you are from some state in murica let the death rows inmate eats some luxurious meal too
Yep but I actually found this surfing news websites though o.o (I have to for journalism class...) Meh I didn't really do any more research than the article said. That's why I put Tradition around " " and put question marks after it because I wasn't all too sure.
$40 dollars budget? $40 dollars worth of hard liquor. I'll die of alcohol poisoning before those blue bastards can get me!
Well it is florida. But the not going over 40 dollars is a economic stand point. The taxpayer don't owe the prisoners anything. The last meal itself is merely a gesture of our humanity and our mercy. To simply show that we are better than the evil prisoners. The last meal is a privilege we give only because we believe that we are better humans that would show kindness even to our enemies.
I think there was a case in a prison somewhere, he requested an extravagant amount of food as his last meal. Costing few hundred dollars in total Somehow the prison staffs caters to his request as best as they can, only for him to eat only just a bit of it. Because of that, the prison abolishes that last meal rights for people on death row. The reason was the best part. They were not allowed to have a special last meal, because their victims were never given that privilege. I agree 120% with that reasoning.
Welp killing someone isn't mercy and is as evil as they do, you can't kill someone (is the law) and sentence him to death (it's obviously a crime, only difference is the government allows the murder , just sayn if you wanna be " better" let them live) (maybe I edit this if it's to confusing )
