Would also like to see Selens reaction too seeing Baked beans after the dungeon considering the titles he got in there that make Vida races/believers not like him/have a negative opinion of him. This will probably prompt Beans into telling Selen the whole story behind him and Van and all of his actions before and after.

 

If I had to guess, she would be happy that her "dad" is back but have a strange feeling that he isn't the same loving figure he was before going into the dungeon so would hide behind the priests legs or something before coming out and saying welcome back.

 

Indeed. If the political and religious aspects didn't matter, Heinz would be left for dust despite the large incumbency advantage.

Van's V-cream politics has been successful so far with the nobles but hasn't faced much real opposition. I think where Heinz has a short-term opportunity is with the dukes who are already nervous about Van - ie Hartner, Sauron and Farzon (the place Heinz and Selen currently are). The current PM of the country is probably quite nervous about Van as well. But if they're the only meaningful opposition then they'll find likely themselves outnumbered before long. Van has dirt on several of them already.

It'll be interesting to see the general reaction amongst the population when what Botin and Peria are saying becomes common-place. In the Orbaume Kingdom, they consider themselves nicer to Vida and the Vida races so they'll probably feel superior to their traditional enemies in the Amid Empire - "we were right all along!". The Alcheim duke might be seen as a genius / figurehead for all his recent policies, heh.

1 day guys. Seriously! 1 day, and you post an entire page worth of things I just have to respond to. (This is going to take a while.)

Ainz and Shaltear used spells to view HP and MP. They cannot see HP and MP without casting those spells. Fluder and Ashe had special abilities inborn from birth, and they are the only two people in the world confirmed to have those abilities. Again, not something just anyone on the street would see, and nobody has had reason yet to cast a spell or put Van in a position where they would see these things.

(And once again, whenever it does happen they will be really shocked.)

Well, Heinz's big contentions in the dungeon when he met Van were..

1. Those things he has done harm the poor humans when you are rescuing Vida races.

2. It's too fast to just change things like that.

3. We don't have the political power to make those changes.

What Van has recently been doing in Alcheim puts the lie to those lower two and completely leaves #1 with no objection to be had. Heinz seems to have largely concluded based on what he heard in Mhir(sp?)'s divine realm that Van is not evil and the only threat he poses is that if he dies his undead will go out of control. His contention was that he wanted to hear whether Van had a solution to that or not, and would kill him if he didn't so that the strength of Van's undead wouldn't increase too much more and could still be more managable. If he sees how rapidly Van is solving all the problems though, with how well those solutions line up with what Heinz now knows needs to happen, he might have a pretty difficult time raising his sword against Van anytime soon.

I think someone else called this one right, there is a precident with Mikhile that Van's jumping to breaking people's souls is something only done under 2 conditions. 1. It was him personally that they wronged. 2. They are posing an immediate and ongoing threat to people, and have made their malicious intentions clear.

Heinz is a little bit of a special case, because after his mother was revived he did not 100% have the reason behind the 1st justification to bring it all the way to soul breaking levels without seeming petty, so he justified it as being because of reason #2 and keeps trying to justify it to himself in that light whether it actually applies or not, and he has a huge confirmation bias that makes him see every one of Heinz's present and past actions as justifying reason #2 he has for soul breaking.

(Yeah, nobody said Van was perfect. In fact, he has several good character flaws that make him much more human. This is definitely one of them.)

Ok, I'm calling it. While Van is attending adventurer school in the Orbaume capital, Heinz sneaks in in disguise to Moski in order to watch one of the shows.

This is a very interesting observation. Heinz receiving Bellwood for a god descent skill solidifies a list of parallels Heinz has going with Darcia. The parallels have been stacking up, such as leaving home for various reasons of disagreement and having a damphir child, and the parallels were also starting to be more noticeable as Darcia became the symbol and chief public face of the Vida movement in Orbaume like Heinz is the same for the Alda peaceful faction, but until this one those parallels were thin and insignificant. Now they are enemies to each other personally, and also have the descent skills for two gods that are enemies to each other as well. Those two are VERY significant parallels that make it so you can't help but see the contention between those two being the one that needs to happen, not the one between Van and Heinz.

This is also the entire reason why there is a tension that makes everyone want to see Van together with Selen. It's not just because she's a damphir girl. It's because she's Heinz' daughter, the daughter of the man who is almost a perfect parallel to Van's mother. If it weren't for that, the idea of getting Van and Selen together would not have anywhere even close to the same amount of appeal.

This is actually why I don't think Van is going to break Bellwood's soul. As I stated before, Van breaks souls if he feels a person has wronged him personally. If he decides not to break Bellwood's soul for the reason that he doesn't see anything he needs to be mad at Bellwood personally for, that would be the same as saying he has zero personal connection to him. In other words, further solidifying the notion of Zakkart really being gone for good since Zakkart's life is nowhere in Van's memory.

What Heinz and Van have done in 12 years are leagues apart. Heinz: a well know up and comer adventurer. 18? And a B class. Van: being born in a cave.

12 years later... Heinz: the leader of Alda harmony faction. A growing acceptance of some of Vida races into society. Defeated some noble vampires. Seal a fragment of Gudu. Completed the trail of Bellwood.

Van: Created a nation. Military victories. United multiple races of Vida. Completed the trail of Zakkart. Made new metals, food, medicines and much more. Killed pure breed vampires. Killed 5? Evil gods. Freed great gods. Seal a lot of fragment s of Gudu. Convert a duchy to Vida fundamentalism.

Heinz been hearing people call him a hero for awhile. When he gets out and see what a real hero been doing... Shock is a word to use but just the first of many.

I'm thinking Edgar/Gudu will quietly leave the party. Make his way to the Amid empire. Denounce Heinz and harmony. The Pope VERY happy welcomes him. They lost storm of violence and Botin Oracle put them in a bad spot. They need a S class support. And in the open Edgar will kill monsters( Vida races) and defeat evil gods with demon king weapons. Behind the sence, Gudu force evil gods to join him and collect his body. Alda realize people are backing Gudu in his name.

 

1- Heinz was 20 something at the time Van was born.
2- Van does not seal DK Frag. He eats them. ONOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

To be fair, in any other situation, Heinz achivements would be really impressive, and they are by the public understanding. But, well, Van. And Van bassically cheated his way through, which as a baby he had all the right to!

Talking babies, since the first was a complete curveball, whos is gonna be the second? Not counting Zadiris, of course.

Also, can't wait for the reaction of the Kingdom in general too Botin's and Peria's "no light" message, it may end up undermining part of the traction that the Alda church have in there lately. And the whatever dukedom giving "you see" smug faces

 

Question of the century is how will the temples of Brainless take it in the Orbaume Kingdom? Honest opinion, some might start to shut down and Orbaume will prob be splintered (slim chance of persecution if Brainless worshipers get a hint and leave asap but then again never know until chap comes out) and also curious how the Beastkin will take this? (I think their God was killed in the DK War)

 

Anouther reason Van probably won't break Limpys soul (at least initially) is that it would look very bad to all those who are neutral or on the fence about him and would be great propaganda for Alda and co to justify a holy war against Van, whilst if he remains alive and most probably neutral or asleep then he won't be able to help Alda.
