I thnk it was mostly the same, but with more characterization and establishing future plot (like the 8G). I remember that kari also mentiond that there was a new character in V5 that had something to do with Zandia's hand.

 

In my Light Translation for SS 50 I mentioned finding out about this "new character"... I looked into her in the novels, and found out she appeared in Vol 4 first... Ironically, the name I translated is the most correct, because Lefdia is "zanDIA's LEFt hand"... "LEFt zanDIA"... Lefdia... Is an undead... And it did a Thumbs up upon Van's naming sense.

 

Van, really? I mean, yeah, his naming sense kinda suck if you think about it (Fang the dog, Mane and Hoof the horses, Pain the pain worm, Rapiéçage (stitch) the patchwork zombie), but really.

Given my character-driven writing style, I'm not touching this until I have read the manga. That is, if I read the manga. (I haven't had as much time for stuff like that since I started writing.) I hear Naofumi's character is VERY different in the manga, it was definitely toned down a lot in the anime.

 

If I had to say what the difference is, is that while WN Naofumi is a Jerk With a Heart of Gold, VN/manga Naofumi is more in the exasperated with everyone state of jerkasery. Generaly grumpy more than angry in a way.

Hmm, makes me want to recreate Mei's crayon drawing of her with Banda. Wouldn't be even that hard, our drawing skills should be pretty much the same. It is kinda sad that it still amounts to a 2 years old level drawing to be honest

I can say the exact same thing about writing. For anyone who has read any of my stuff, here's my secret for getting that level of quality. I literally practiced for 8 years. Almost every day for 8 years I wrote approximately 2,000 words a day. That only counts creative writing, fiction or persuasive essay format writing. I do not count forum posts like this one toward those 2,000 words, because creative writing is entirely different from this kind of writing.

Also, I learned the same subjects all the greats of the 70s and 80s golden age of Sci-Fi were all super skilled in. There are educational subjects that improve your writing ability, regardless of what genre you are writing. Most of them have to do with Psychology, Sociology, Politics, and History.

 

Golden week right? Does Yoshi plan to release some chapter?
