Hi I am looking for Novels like The Legendary Mechanic with it's engaging story, over arching goals and most importantly, quantifiable progression. MC gets exp, blueprints, rare talents, forms organisation and makes assembly line to harvest exp more effectively, uses treasure for political leverage, etc. It's like the beginning of WMW before Leylin advances to a mage.

Please also recommend some other novels that you may like

Here's a Sample of what I read for reference

    Novels with Book-like quality:
    Lord of the Mysteries
    Pivot of the Sky
    Ze Tian Ji

    Great Stories:
The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor (Epic Battles)

The Second Coming of Gluttony(Great Character Development)
Release that Witch (Early-mid parts for me)
    Supreme Magus

    Well Executed:
Reverend Insanity (MC does whatever it takes)
    Coiling Dragon
    Ark

A Record of a Mortal’s Journey to Immortality
    The King’s Avatar
    World of Cultivation
    Sevens (LN)
    Mushoku Tensei (WN)
    The First Order
    The Amber Sword

    The Legendary Mechanic

    No Strong feelings:
    The Novel’s Extra
    Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint
    Stop, Friendly Fire!
    The Book Eating Magician

Once Upon A Time, There Was A Spirit Sword Mountain
Throne of Magical Arcana (Same Author for Lord of the Mysteries)
    Trash of the Count’s Family
    Heavenly Jewel Change
    The Desolate Era
    The World Online
    (Loved The Beginning)
    Worlds’ Apocalypse Online
Rebirth of the thief Who Roamed The World
    A Will Eternal

    Stories that had great potential:
    Overgeared
    Warlock of the Magus World
    Divine Throne of Primordial Blood

Tales of Demons and Gods (First Love)
    Transcending the Nine Heavens
    City of Sin

Stories that were too long but I finished anyway:
    I Shall Seal the Heavens
    Martial World

    Ether:
    Dragon-Marked War God
    Emperor's domination
    Library of Heaven's Path
Against the Gods (Coitus is always the cure)
    Sovereign of the Three Realms
    King of Gods
    Age of Adepts
    Hail the King

    The Human Emperor
Forty Millenniums of Cultivation (Exposition breaks the flow of the story)

    we all do
most of those novels are must readers for a beginner.

Against the Gods, I Shall Seal the Heavens, Tales of Demons and Gods are the mainstream in the cultivation genre.
Warlock of the Magus World is a must for Adepts World... (i think that Age of Adepts is better, but its my preference)
Galactic Dark Net also, for Sci-Fi Setting... (The Mech Touch is more well written, but goddamit Exlor likes his ramblings)
and any work from Toy Car for golden comedy, and a nice but broken system.

Haha TDG got me into reading web novels. WMW was next and ISSTH and Coiling Dragon After.
I read Valhalla Saga but dropped it halfway cos it felt like the MC had no real Goal/Aim/Motivation. Should I give it another chance?

I would suggest Mechanical Emperor, Mech Touch, or The Great Machine Sage. I think the later two novels are in Webnovels.
