I'm looking for a Lit RPG without the standard warrior/thief archetype main character. I'm looking for the Archer, Mages and Clerics out there, no hybrids who can do anything due to the power of mary or gary sue, classic archetypes, combined with a healthy dose of cunning for the awesome. An excellent example is Reign of the Hunters and I'd prefer female leads but that's not a requirement. It can be a vrmopg story some kind of system descends onto the world, it can be on kindle unlimited, it can be on rrl, I don't care Oh, and nonstandard does not mean I want a monster main character, those devolve far to easy into the "can do anything" hybrids
Everybody Loves Large Chests http://royalroadl.com/fiction/8894 definitely nonstandard LITRPG MC but my favorite right now, dont wanna spoil just read chapter 1 and you'll get it. try arcane emperor http://royalroadl.com/fiction/8463 top rated mc is mage.
http://royalroadl.com/fiction/3468 Loser of tarinth. Basically, he's a criminal sent into an RPG world for all other criminals. Heso the only cleric in the game.
It hasn't updated in a little while, but Survivors of the wild on rrl is good. Its main lead is a female druid
Few first books of Way of Shaman series are good. More here. https://www.litrpg.com/litrpgbooks/#litrpg-books
Try this one http://www.novelupdates.com/series/a-certain-middle-aged-mans-vrmmo-activity-log/ It's a good novel for rpg tag .
Twisting Fate - figther/magic Dragonfall: Enchantment - its in the name Deck of Cards The antagonist's daughter Rage against Divine - weak to strong Magic Monsters Money - makes new magic style Spell Analyst - tech/magic? Necro-tourists: The Undead Living the Life - more slice of life type
On NU: I Reincarnated Into a Vending Machine - MC is a vending machine...it doesn't get any more non-standard. Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu - MC is an Archer/Mage On RRL I can think of: Slime Tamer's Chronicles - MC is a tamer (female) Endless Cage - MC is mostly a mage, but she does use weapons too to help channel their magic. So they are more like a magic swordsman (but more towards the magic side, simply because her stats are too low to be useful in doing any physical damage due to the cap for most of the novel, so she kind of uses the sword to help get in a spell from close range towards a weakspot more than actually using the sword with strength. Aka her sword is like battle wand more than a sword) (female MC)
rrL: To Break the World - male mc is a crafter uses stealth and ranged but story focus is on him needed to plan and think outside the box. Life Reset - male mc is forced to play a monster race and mage type with a lot of town building. The Wandering Inn - female mc transported to another world with levels, rpg elements are not the focus so much as the world and the way mc adapts, becomes innkeeper class. Getting Hard - male mc aims to be the best tank in game, plays a demon centaur type race. comical tone.
