Im curious to how some people in the community think of themselves, do you guys/gals do actions based on emotion or just logic or even some other thing that I'm not aware of yet. Personally I'm of the more logic side always have been, I just find acting on my emotions is just pointless and unproductive.
Emotion, mostly. Acting based on calculation and logic is far more pointless than acting on emotion. What's the point of being human if you're going to act like a machine?
Those who are considered humans use both emotions and logic. People without emotions are considere psyhopats and those without logic... well idiots I guess. I guess you should neither discard to be human.
A mix of both I guess. My logic tells me to go and finish my homework but I'm here reading NU forum and answering your question. Though I wouldn't be ruled by my emotion and doing stupid things like cursing anyone in their face.
depends on my mood. I probably do at least half the things I do based/influenced by 'emotion', however, I almost always think about what and why I'm doing it. I don't really think it's either one or the other.
I think I should (and know I should) act out of logic, but yeah, my emotions just take control of me and won't let go. It's impossibly frustrating.
Fair enough but maybe its how i grew up i just found emotions just get in my way too much i mean of course i do things to relieve my stress or vent but at the end of the day i just prefer acting on my own logic
Both can't be separated, logic without emotion will leave you empty. While emotion without logic will make you foolish.
But thats part of being human and if you have trouble controlling your emotions try to empty your mind thats always helped me
I'm quite logical, but, you neglect the fact that logic is often subservient to whatever emotions we have. For example, let's take the case of 'I must do this now. Doing this will save me x amount of work and trouble later.' On the surface it's all about efficiency. In truth it's because you don't want the annoyance from having to face that potential hassle later. Take something like 'justice' as another example. The whole legal system is there because people get mad if others take their stuff or make attempts on their life, so we have a punishment system set up to spare us the trouble of lynching that person ourselves. You think mother nature cares if someone took something from someone else? It's the emotional humans who care.
I'm not trying to say anyone who acts more using calculation than emotion is living a pointless life. Just that some people really take that too far. Life is far more enjoyable when you learn to let go a bit you know
true but where is the fine line and where do you switch between Okay? Im not going to pry into that one and quite frankly i don't know how to respond to that.
People act more based on emotions than logic. They may not believe so but because their emotions that they believe their logic are flawless.
