Just, what the heck is this formatting? Anyone else has the same problem? (Had to crop a bit from the right to upload, the bottom is not cropped, that is all the space available to read comments and stuff)
@runsing we need bigger upload image limits. we deserve bigger uploads more than 5MB per images seriously unable to upload image more than 2 MB is just meh....
i just tested saving a 10 MB, 5500x3500 resolution (roughly 19 MPixel) image with 4:4:4 chroma subsampling + image quality at 85 setting, and was easily able to get it to under 2 MB with two different *simple image viewer/editor. 2 MB is more than ample for reasonably good quality image for viewing on a computer screen. even more so when the pictures were taken with a mobile phone. learn to resize your image. it just takes few second to do it even with an old pentium D. whats the use of even overclocking your processor and ram if your pc can't even do such simple task. * irfanview and paint dot net
Last time I have to change the file to jpeg, to all the way to image quality to 60... legit. I think any lower it better just to upload an 8 bits color image. We are having problem just to upload screen shots. I have to change my screen resolution before taking screen shots to save the hassle to light room it.
you probably doing it incorrectly somewhere. i've been testing again and again, at 2560x1440, the screenshot saved as jpeg, at 95 quality didn't even went over 3 MB. a screenshot of youtube main page using firefox, scrolled down few times to make the total Mpixel at 6, when converted to jpeg at 85 compression quality, is still sub 2 MB (original PNG size @ 8.5 MB)
can't you just made it 5mb so we could upload it at full quality? Not sure about xenforo but for php function there is a way to crop the image at the server side/auto croping.
