New Year's day is after that sure, but it doesn't mean that the 'New Year's Tournament' is on that day in particular. Either way, I wouldn't be too worried, even if the tournament was later on, he wouldn't stand for the marriage.

I think the people that are following him are people from the Summoning Temple. They know that something strange is up with him because he has a silver grimoire when everyone thinks he is trash but they were incredibly surprised at seeing the crystal card and immediately knew where he got it from. They were even drawing comparisons between him and his 'father' so they seem to know a bit. I almost laughed at some of the descriptions. I wonder just how much of a ruckus Yue Yang is going to make. Yes, he is probably going to do some curbstomping in the tournament but it looks like he's been told to keep his nose out of the whole marriage issue which I don't think he is going to take very well at all. Surely he's going to take it a step further, even further then just this pretty ruthless plot against Yue Shan. I really hope something like that comes to fruition. Actually...
