Recommendations Looking for a romance novel where the MC leaves the ML at the end.

I recently read Turning Back Time and I was wondering if there were more "romance" stories like it.

Where the MC and the ML have a romance of sorts together, but in the end the MC leaves the ML for good. Maybe the MC find someone else down the line, maybe the MC stays single. But in the end the main ML, the one we all think she's gonna end up with, she just leaves.

Are there any stories like that?

A bit of an odd request, but I want to see if there is one.

 

There are so many manga where I wish that were the case. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Sorry, I don’t have any recommendations, but I applaud the sentiment. I can’t remember the amount of manga I’ve read, particularly BL, where I just want the couple to break up.

Mangá Hirunaka no Ryuusei

 

Tong Hua does this at least a couple of times (in Bu Bu Jing Xin and Song in the Clouds), and it usually arises from the male love interest doing things that make it impossible for the protagonist to stay with him. I find that this is much better than a lot of the other Romance novels out there because it allows for dynamic relationships even after the lead couple is solidified.
