Recommendations Looking for a story with a necromancer MC

Necromancers are one of my favorite classes in video games but haven't been able to find a story where the MC is purely a necromancer.

The MC can have other skills / abilities / magic but uses Necromancer as his go to. A harem is also fine as long as its done well not mass of side character women please.

EDIT: RRL stories are fine too

To be honest, I also like more novels about necromancers. I do know that there have been other threads about this topic before in the "I'm Looking for ..." subforums. You might want to search for those.

 

Theres like 3 looking for necromancer thread here. You should search for it, I doubt there would be anything new beside whats recomanded in those 3 thread.

Overlord has been suggested. You are already reading Great Demon King, so the only one left I know even somewhat close is Warlock of the Magus World or something like that. It's not really necromancy though more just magic with a dark theme.

Bringing The Farm To Live In Another World. while not exactly a necromancer, the mc is known for commanding large amounts of undead.

 

This isn't quite what you've asked, but maybe Mother of Learning could interest you. The MC is not a necromancer, but there's necromancy in the setting, and the author likes making solid magic systems. Several characters are related to necromancy to varying degrees of expertise and "on both teams". That being said, necromancy really starts to kick in a bit later in the story.

The Encroaching Rift and Rise of the Lich both have necromancers. The Encroaching Rift is an apoc game world conversion story. Rise of the Lich also has a game elements but they're a natural part of that world. It's hilarious also. It's funny enough to make you forgive the bad grammar.

 

Holly god, a novel with Diablo 2 in it, man I have to read it, after I was one of the most powerfull Necromancers in Diablo 2 for a really long time ^^

 

Great Demon King is probably the closest to pure necromancy series I've come across (he's also something of a demonologist).
Bringing the Farm to Live in Another world also deals with controlling undead, but he's not a traditional necromancer.
Warlock of the Magus World is not necessarily a pure necromancer, but he deals with spirits and death and soul experimentation. Not much in the way of skeleton summoning though, but it's a very dark cultivation story that might have what you're looking for.

Another you might try is Demon's Diary. It's similar to Warlock of the Magus World in the sense that the MC joins a sect that deals in dark arts, a lot of controlling of bones and ghosts involved but not necessarily pure necromancy.

 

haha it might drive you a little nuts then, the MC starts with an absolute shit build and his skill allocation is absolute garbage. That said, it's still a super fun read but the build choices he goes for with his characters bothered me.

Well I used a Bone skill Necro that was almost nonexistent type, and in Fact my build was self made too,
but even soo I had the first in rank character's ear in my stash because I killed him 3 times kkkkkk

If you mean Diablos 2 builds I would Gladly "compare notes", making more Cultivators notice the grandness of the "Path of Bones" makes my day worth
