Off topic, but I'm Chinese too~ I speak Cantonese and a bit of Mandarin and Taishan dialect, but I can't read or write Chinese sadly since I only recognize a few characters

 

I was wondering how a Chinese can't read/write Chinese ? Is it bc you grow up overseas ?? Actually, i also have Chinese friends, one fluent and able to read/write Chinese while the other one didn't even know Chinese, she even asked me how to read Chinese characters

 

Yeah so technically I'm Chinese-American I think it was? I was born here but my Chinese idioms and pronunciations are even better than my mother's. I went back to Hong Kong and was even asked by my cousin's (ex)bf when I went to America and I was so confused about what he meant because I was born in America, but apparently, my Chinese is that good heheh I didn't have much chances to read Chinese growing up so I didn't really develop my reading/writing. (My grandparents live with my parents and I, and they only speak Chinese plus we only have Chinese channels on our TV so my canto is A+ level [practicing my Mandarin with my parents occasionally lately due to Chinese novel influence heheh])

 

I see, so i guess you'll be able to enjoy Chinese audio dramas, i'm so envy xDD

Yes, biological father, i've no idea about the age gap, but when MC met his father again, MC around 15 y.o, iirc author never mentioned the father age, maybe above 30 ?

It's more like the father possessive w/ MC and jealous whenever MC w/ his uncle (ML's brother), he even thought that MC is his son but why he doesn't want get close w/ ML (well it bc MC was rebirth and what ML did it MC previously wasn't anything nice and lead to MC death). And that feeling, start to turn into more than fatherly love.
