I read just about all the mainstream martial arts novels that are filled with generic, overused elements in it. (Dragon Proud Sky provides more info about that) I'm sick of it, and I want something new in my life. Any recommendations?
What kind of martial arts, fantasy kind or like realistic kind of but with "chi". I can find something~ But kinda need a little bit more detail on what your burnt out on
You say you're tired of mainstream martial arts novels and want something new, does that mean you want a different type of Martial art novel, or another genre?
The Demoness Is Not Evil A Mistaken Marriage Match Wicked Soldier King IMO, all of them contains martial arts theme, but with unusual plot.
I should've been more specific. By generic and overused, I was talking about the elements in a wuxia novel that got addressed in Dragon Proud Sky (can be found at Sylver Translation). What I want to see is something fresh, like King Shura (which I happen to TL lmao) or something that doesn't have all these overused stuff (World of Cultivation, I guess). I hope this answers your questions. Genre... I'm totally fine with reading a different genre, as long as it has action lol. I actually like sword and magic quite a lot. The only reason why I haven't much of it nowadays is because many of the sword & magic novels in the internet are seriously "light"? I want to see a sword and magic that shows the "dark" side of the world, like Overlord. As for LMS, I've read that thing up to volume 45 (raw). Being able to read ahead is one of the racial perks for being a native Korean, I guess. I don't know how far the thing's been translated so far, so I might be behind or something lol.
Hmm, you can't go wrong the classic, so The Legend of the Condor Heroes series. The dark side feel is really apparent in The Heaven Sword and the Dragon Sabre, the sequel. The series is actually only loosely linked to each other, so feel free to started with one that attract your attention the most. Since it is ok as long as it has action: Quan Zhi Gao Shou Gong Hua Those two (+lazy king that's already in your reading list) are the novels I that thought as the most distinctive out of my reading list. Dominion’s End, mainly because it has sword and magic.
Greetings ensj. I saw your avatar and knew straight away that it was you. Thank you very much for your hard work with King Shura. Now onto the rec.. Sword and magic that shows the "dark" side of the world? I recommend I Shall Seal the Heavens. Not sure how much you'll like it but I strongly recommend it.
