I once read about a low rank soldier that got taken to a castle where he actually be the strategist.. I forget the title but it has decent world building..

And one where his job is to click a button but with that click he actually killed a person in real.. The world is in kind of war times but it was great..

Rms also has decent world building..

I'm not that big a fan of romance but this: Sansheng, Death Exists Not at the River of Oblivion,was a nice read. It's pretty short, takes about an hour or 2. Well worth reading if you just want a comfortable read or something to cheer you up.
