    DO you just want novels? I can suggest a great development manga, albeit with lots of gore and fighting. 18+

    Spice and Wolf is an original writing while Heavy Object is a translated project..
    Spice and Wolf more detailed on the characters relation and background while Heavy Object has a focus on war between nation, and detailed info on object..
    Each has their charm so it's up to you to decide..

    World building? You should search for adventure genre. It would be logical to think that a story with adventure would have a decent world building element. You could also use that genre and search for it in anime or manga, it doesn't have to be a novel, does it?

    I'm just tired of constantly reading about slugfests and plot armors that focuses on powerlvling instead of actually reading a novel

    You can try "I Shall Seal the Heavens". its a xianxia. it has good world building with a good amount of action and philosophy, slight amount of comedy and a smidge of romance. The mc starts as a failed scholar looking to live the good life. Almost 300 chapters translated till now.

    Or
    "Ze Tian Ji a.k.a the way of choices". The mc starts as Taoist traveling to a city to return something entrusted to him. It has a good amount of philosophy and comedy, slight amount of action and romance. Has world building and a little more than 100 chapters translated till now
