Lets Have Fun Discussing Lord Xue Ying
Ah Lord Xue Ying, such a good novel if only it updated faster, though its been updating at a very reasonable speed recently. I like how Xue Ying is a super hard-working MC who has innate talent as opposed to random outside power-up. It makes it more interesting imo. Plus the novel makes lots of sense. Xue Ying can't save his father completely, so he pays for protection money. Plus he recognizes his limits and isnt too arrogant. Good novel, cant wait for more chapters from Radiant and Dark Translations. @Parth37955
I really like that one, though I lost my will save and am MTing the raws because of the slooow translation rate.
And, yes, it's nice that the MC basically has nothing 'unique' that fall from the sky for him, just decent fortune/luck as well as a ridiculous amount of talent.
sigh~~after reading the new chapter, i can guess where IET will go with this setting.
Arrogant and a complete idiot. Hopefully this Si Bai Rong dies on the mission.
Might have to drop this novel for a really long time.
Another release and I read it. Dammit I need to read the next chapter now
Scumbaggery to the max this Si Bai Rong guy...
Well he's dead. Didn't stay around long enough to be annoying. I'm satisfied. It's fun so far
What I'm kinda surprised about is this is IET's newest work right (still ongoing). It seems really contrived in comparison to DE, I feel like the world-building and imagination level is just way lower in comparison to his previous works. Feels like he's just phoning it in, haven't seen any new or really exciting ideas in this novel so far.
You didn't think DE was contrived too? I only read IET because I find his novels fun for awhile then about 1k chapters in, I feel too invested to let go.
I dunno. I found the world-building compelling, maybe in the grand scheme of xianxia it wasn't too original but I like the scale the novel has. Whereas LXY is lacking that, and the whole mage/knight cultivation system is way overdone. Feels western, and not in a good way. Maybe it's different for the Chinese audience though? Just personal for me.
That said, still enjoying IET and his writing, just not as compelling as DE imo.
Sometimes simple scales are best. Then it comes down to a matter of knowledge and use of abilities as opposed to just brute overpowering (not that IET ever does this) I find the ridiculous power scaling up in many novels to just be offputting typically
For me the reason i still read IET's work is probably because of cd, and damn it really gave me a fond memory. I probably still looking for the thrill in reading about the early fights but sigh it didn't really got to that level.
Right now, i read LXY, DE and 9C but none of these fight is as exciting anymore and other factors such as relationship has never been a forte for IET.
Alright that woman is a bitch she doesn't even know the important details and keeps blabbering i hope his brother doesn't fall to the temptation and dumps her on the spot
I just hope his brother won't start to fight with Xue Ying because of his girlfriend cause he's been too good of a brother.
Damn.. this little bro needs to dump his hoe.
I enjoy IET's flavor of writing. He tends to keep things.. not overly dramatic. Oftentimes the characters do what you want so you're not spending a ton of time agonizing over poor decisions on the characters parts. I think that's what makes his works enjoyable.
Women sowing discord among brothers, qin shi's intestines will turn green from regret it he makes a mistake. Hope xue ying resolves this peacefully
Usually this kind of situation follows the bloodbath of the siblings.
This is also partly Xue Ying fault, as he didn't tell his brother anything so he is clueless about everything.
