Name: Lord Xue Ying Raw Link: Can't post links. NU Link: Can't post links. Why It Should Get Picked Up: No offense to the current translators. They have done a great job up until now. However they have failed to solve the matter which has kept the novel on hiatus since July. Also I would like to see the translation continue. Description: In the Tranquil Sun province of the empire, there exists an unremarkable lordship known as Xue Ying Territory! This is the home of the Dong Bo clan, the clan of our hero Xue Ying! His father, a commoner turned noble; his mother, a noble who abandoned her clan for love, and his brother, an innocent toddler. But peace cannot last forever, Xue Ying’s peaceful life is shattered, and the only way to reclaim it is through power!
You think where Radiant couldn't convince Qidian some random TLer can? No group has a deal with QI. They've been meaning to poach this project ever since they DMCAed Radiant or whatever they used to freeze releases. They've been promising on their forums they'll pick up LXY for months. It's not happening.
I think at some point the reader becomes important. Is more time really going to solve the issue between radiant and QI?
They only block the ones that look popular they want. Doesn't matter. The moment they targeted LXY, pick-up requests became moot. It's not happening.
wait what? how? The reader is not important at all here. You have an organization (QI) which won't let the original people do it for now. NO one is gonna bother picking this up only to be forced to stop after a few releases. There is no resolution here other than Qidian giving permission or QI hiring a translator to translate it.
The novel has NOT been dropped or dmca'd. Radiant is in talks with QI, and part of the agreement is that no new chapters will be posted until said agreement is officialized. Chapters are in fact still being translated.
The moment QI picks this up, you know it's going to be edited rips from Radiant followed by MTL crap. Might as well read from LNMTL for the rest of the chapters.
Yes, because all novels translated by QI are "mtl crap". Lets us simply ignore the dozens of high quality translations that they put out on a daily basis. Clearly you find being unbiased too tiresome an endeavor.
I find your statements as a moderator of a website dedicated to allowing people to conveniently find translated novels to be flawed. The reader is the conclusion of all of the problems the whole issue revolves around.
QI has promised on their own forums for months now that they will take the novel from Radiant and translate it themselves. I am not optimistic.
I would say that NU is dedicated just as much to creating exposure for translators and helping them in general. Note that Tony gave money to Translators as a gift on the second anniversary.
not at all. readers don't matter. it's not like the popular vote matters let's say another tl'er were to pick it up. Having readers wouldn't protect them for possible legal action. Let's say QI doesn't give permission to radiant to tl at all, and after some time, gets a tl'er for it by themselves. The majority of readers will be happy with it. So no rush or fear for losing people. Let's say radiant does get the right. Readers still don't matter cause they had no effect on the outcome. It is not your right to be able to read novels. It's a privilege. It is not a necessity either as you won't fall over dead without it. The needs of the readers don't matter in the large scale because the majority of readers won't care. There is no unity. Just look at QI for example. After everything they've done to piss people off, they still get loads of traffic and readers. When you consider the thousands and millions of readers, *you* don't matter. It is because I've been a moderator for "a website dedicated to allowing people to conveniently find translated novels" I know how little readers matter. Readers are rarely the "conclusion". They're usually the problem tbh. It's some readers after all that start flame wars or harass translators. Do you even know what the "issue" here is?
