I agree. It’s like the electric car. All of sudden there no engine compartment. Less moving parts. Less maintenance. Like the Tesla. The motors are connected directly unto the wheels. But instead of a ton of batteries. Maybe a couple of crystals.

 

I wish they went more into detail on some of the technology or ideas. Like what goes into a magic pump press. Or how he was designing his employees housing.

I hate that kind of "justice", you hand the criminal to be raped and "roughed up", while you look to the other side. It's the same as saying there's no law.

 

Even thou I saw it coming. It was very satisfying to see the bad guys get their come up ends. I pretty much new that their was a hidden brand label somewhere. I figure it was either in the array it self or as so happen the heated bottom.
Still what they did was in essence stealing from someone. In any world I’ve read. That’s an automatic jail time or a severe punishment like chopping off a persons hand. I also think they went a little light on the punishment.
Now finally the end of all that useless muck. Let’s get back to innovating.

Personally I don’t care for hovercrafts. The noice and structure of the crafts gives me a bad taste in my mouth. The noice is from all the huge fans both top and bottom. The structure has a lot of disadvantage. The skirt is easier to tear and puncture when compared to a normal ship haul. When you compare the number of moving parts the hovercraft has to a normal ships. You’ll see that the maintenance and wear/ tear is greater. Due to the nature of a hovercraft it would have problems with bad weather and rough seas.
The idea is still interesting, but practicality is not there. Besides the fuel usage is probably higher too.

Might not need a skirt. Hovercraft skirts are only there to contain the air needed for an "air cushion", if he did have mini-wind arrays, it's a lot simpler to just design it like a helicopter and use the jets to just blast down. We do it the air cushion way because of energy efficiency. And if you want energy efficiency, hulled boats are the cheapest since they don't need to lift the entire ship off the water. Hovercraft and ekranoplans have very small load capacities for their size, usually about 50 to 100 ton more or less. Cargo ships can easily go into 50,000 tons cargo range for a single ship, so you can see the difference in scale.

You know, now he's got a wind array and is trying to "invent" electricity, won't it be hilarious if he suddenly discovered that magnets in that world do not generate electricity? lol.

 

What about the ratio of moving parts between ships and hovercrafts. And their wear and tear?
