You know how you constantly see people ask "I can't make a new thread because of spam or something" and then you have to explain how they need 10 forum posts to be able to post links? Well the reason for that is because the prompt is vague as shit. It says nothing about why you can't post the thread, or how you can change your post so you can post it. I suggest that we should change the wording of it so at least the new user knows why they can't post the thread. This encourages either edit their thread so it doesn't have links or images, or encourages them to shitpost/post normally in threads. The reason I'm saying this is because I'm generally sick of new people asking this. If it's such a prominent thing to see, we really should explain it when they cause the error. Even though it's on the FAQ Section 2 Article 2 (this is really one of the most asked questions), I seriously doubt a newbie would read up to there for no good reason. Sure, you can blame them for not reading the whole thing and that they should be punished for that, but I doubt half the mods have read it either. Spoiler: Example image {}
1) Searching 'FAQ' has no results 2) It's in an obscure place which no one visits. 3) It's fucking long
I wonder why people complained about tutorial or something similar to long or plain wall of text but fine reading hundred chapter or so per days :/
Here's the link by the way http://forum.novelupdates.com/threads/faq-frequently-asked-questions.927/ Also... The FAQ link is already under the "important links" section... How is that obscure?
It's on the home page of NUF... What else do you want? Anyways, it was the first thing I noticed when I joined NUF. So I can't understand these "obscure" comment. >.>
Well, the FAQ isn't big and it's easy to find... However, I don't think the OP has a bad idea, changing the prompt could be nice. Like, instead of sating it contains innapropriate elements, just say the user doesn't have permission to post links/images.
Also, when you post a multiple links, and the message says you are posting a banned website, it doesn't tell you which website is banned.
