If you have a choice to read manga or novel which would you choose? I would choose manga. I dont like constantly staring at screen and reaading novels. it strains my eyes. I only do if the story is super interesting. Meanwhile manga is comic type and i find it a bit easier for my eyes.
No option for both? I like both tbh, with novels I can let my imagination run wild and I appreciate all the small details that mangas tend to skip, while in manga, I appreciate the art and how it's usually more easier to read~!
mine is novel~ i just like reading texts, and i get impatient sometimes reading mangas, i tend to skip the illustrations sometimes and just read the texts XDD
Mangas might be easier to read but it also misses a lot of plot to make it so. Like 5 chapters of a novels may be shortened into 1 chapter of a manga. So, a lot of scenes you liked in the novel will be missing as they aren’t important or liked by others.
Novels because a lot of manga&/ anime tends to skim through certain details or plot points which are pretty important in the novel. Manga also seems honestly pretty half-assed but then again it's just for the fans since having a popular novel published as manga is easy money since they already have a steady fanbase that'll be sure to follow and purchase the print.
manga for trash plots since you can read it quicker and novels for good plots so i can relish it and um... manga for some action novels too because translator/author (idk which one) sucks at action scenes
I like to read both, if the novel is ahead of the manga/manhwa I'd read the novel and sometimes I don't even know of the manga/manhwa. If the story's really good, I might go looking for a manga/manhwa. Now I mostly stick to novels, I don't visit much of the manga sites. So only if it's mentioned that it has a manga adaptation do I go look for it.
I'm not a very visual person, I prefer text, so novels for me. I also tend to not notice or forget details when I look at pictures, but I have a much better memory when reading novels, so I don't miss anything important. I still like reading manga though.
It depends on certain factors, but I usually prefer to read the novel first. I think novel can give more in-depth description and freedom of imagination than manga.
Novel. I can read Cnovel and Knovel but for manga/manhwa/manhua, I usually prefer the Kmanhwa only. Cnovel is more variety in plot but I can't stand the manhua version.
I'd say 90% of the time the novel is better, but there is that 10% where the story is actually more readable and the MC more likable in the manga version so I would say both.
When I am not sure about a novel, I look at the manga first and if I like it I read the novel. Saves a lot of time since, as others have pointed out, manga tend to skip details. Spoiler And when I read the full translation of the novel: MTL edit: small grammar question: is the plural of manga "mangas" or "manga"?
Depends which is easier or better to read. Example: beginning after the end is better in manga form than novel form Coiling dragon is better in novel form than manga
Novel. Manga is hard to appreciate when you cant be bothered to put your attention on a drawing for longer than a second. A lot of details go over my head
It depends on the manga. Generally I prefer manga, but I'vr read many where the things the adaptation brings get overshadowed by the things it loses. Like generally I dont care to read action scenes in novels, but if the manga art is dull and badly coreographed I will just read the novel.
