Forgotten Title Massive slime

I am looking for an, I think it was isekai, novel where the MC has a taming ability (or at least befriended creatures) and one of the monsters tamed is a slime.

The two things I remember are:
1. The slime can shrink and grow, with the base size eventually being able to take up and entire room.
2. The MC at some point uses that slime in a fight against bandits.

I know this is very little to go on, apologies for that.

If we go into semantics or technicalities, those large slimes would count as a mass of slimes temporarily assembled into a single large entity, but they shouldn't necessarily have that much size control.

Also, the current very large king, huge & emperor slimes he can have aren't that combat capable, being cleaner and scavenger slimes I believe. The acid slimes might be pretty powerful, but he might not have that many of them, and he doesn't really go out of his way to fight humans either, so the only time most likely would've been in the first novel (not the reboot), shortly after the ladies came visitng for training, because at that time the MC was famous for dealing with bandits, but he wouldn't have had to rely on slimes to do it, and I can't really recall him having to do it after that.

Anyway, i'll just ask some questions to clarify

1. Are you (OP) entirely sure it was just 1 slime and would that be all the monsters (or just the only slime) the MC controls ?
2. Does it have any particular attacks rather than just trying to squash the enemies?
3. Do you recall anything else about the MC, is he naive, evil, Reincarnator, summoned, alone, party etc. anything at all
4. Do you remember if there were a lot of chapters translated at that time or just a few?

 

It was one slime, singular, not like in The Man Picked up by the Gods. The MC also was the typical guy without training, unlike with The Man Picked up by the Gods.

MC, as far as I remember, also was more on naive side of things.

I think the slime itself could mess around with its viscosity and form tentacles. It was used as a blockade in the encounter I remember though

At the time, there were at most 30 - 50 chapters translated. But this was 1 - 2 years ago
