Technically the MC was a descendant of a monster and can be considered one. The ending was pretty bad though
chrysalis (on creativenovels) one of the BEST novels of it's type mc is an ant monster weak to strong very enjoyable
My House of Horrors It's hard to say if the mc is really human or not. Maybe at the beginning, but he may be slowly becoming something else, or awakening to something he's always been. It's hard to say because I don't know either. Good mystery, great horror elements. But also cuts the horror with some comical moments when it follows visitors to his haunted house at a theme park.

Mostly heartwarminig slice of life, but has action and some rare bits of very light horror. Do VRMMOs count? If so, Farming for Gold. Slice of life with very rare action bits. MC has no real combat power though. Dungeon Traveler. Dungeon story. Currently on its second book. novelupdates Apotheosis of a Demon – A Monster Evolution Story, not sure if this counts as being reborn as a monster, but I don't think so. Mostly an action series.
