Does anyone know any novels where the Main Character never joins a sect? I can't think of many novels where the MC never joins one, and the few that I can think of only loosely qualify. Cultivation Chat Group's MC never joins a sect, but the chat group could be considered a loose sect. Battle Through the Heavens doesn't have an actual sect, but there is a Battle Qi Academy arc, which is close enough. Ultimate Scheming System has the MC make a fake sect, but it turns into a real sect eventually. I can't think of many novels where the MC is a Rogue Cultivator, has a master who is unaffiliated with a sect or only has his family/clan's teachings.
