qidian conspiracy has gone to another level

 

If we keep it from being profitable for quidian, they won't have a reason to stay. The sooner their gone the better

By the looks of it, Qidian's using the Pareto principle - 80% of the revenue comes from 20% of the reader base. However, this will be a mistake, because right now it's a voluntary payment system, which means people donate based on how invested they're in a novel, which depends on the original novel, the translator's english proficiency and the general plot of the novel - which means TLers can set their own pace and thus deliver a certain quality of work

Once it becomes paywalled, people'll expect a regular pace because it's now an official business contract - which means quantity gets prioritized over quality and the overall experience drops. Personally, I'd prefer 5 well translated chapters/week to 10 half-assed chapters from Qidian

This is what I call a joke, people I will say something that perhaps for you it will be funny:

When you talk about intellectual property, you have to know that the translations are a derivate work with full rights after they have been approved by the original work, even in those cases in which the original work disapproves that derivate work, they can NEVER take property of which, so at most what they can do is start from zero all the novels they take back, because they have no rights over the derivate work to use it. This is the legal part of it.

Now let's talk about extinction of contract, first of all because I haven't seen the contract so I can't say everything, but if they approved the situation of WW when they accepted the gravity translations then they have no motive to end the contract, this is not a cause of extinction in any case and it's illegal. However another thing is if they can just terminate the contract with WW. I would need to see it to be sure.

So all leechers and normal readers should support wuxiaworld unless they want to see all their novels starting again. In fact even if a translator of wuxiaworld wanna leave for qidian, at least be intelligent, they have no rights over your derivative work, so you can ask as much as you want and if they don't give it to you, they can't use your derivative work.

TL;DR: They want to back out of their deal. Lied about things. Want to build a paywall, and have us pay for it.

When you're as big as QI, I'm sure they will be followed.
