Well... one more novel off my reading list. Honestly this is a good thing i was already reading too many novels. Now i'm much freer, no more AGM no more GDW, no more TMW, and no more MGS. Honestly, I believe QI will feel the downfall in views/ad revenue as soon as a paywall happens. Things are different in the west compared to the chinese market, and they don't realize this. Trying to corner the market, and bully the people that signed with you in the beginning. Anywho, we'll just have to wait and see.

 

I feel like I missed a bit of information. So I apologize if I am like the one hundredth person to ask this but, is there a reason why all novels I read have been slowly but surely going over to qidian translations? Like ex: I'm really a superstar and others.

Qidian do want the monopoly about novels, WW is a hindrance, and they r trying everything to get the monopoly. If you saw WW's pronouncement, the Qi offered a great proposal for get the translators from WW. Perhaps, that's will continue to happening. It's sad, but probably the QI will get the monopoly.

 

Because their pride won't feed them at the end of the day. They gotta earn.

 

Well a lot of translated novels copyrights belong to qidian, and translators aren't getting enough money to survive so they go to qidian

 

Long story short, Qidian wants to monopolize and exploit the community that we have built for sweet sweet money like the greedy corporation they are. They have no respect for us so everyone is mad at them. But some people have personal issues and need the money which Qidian is giving to entice them so they have joined them.

I would say they went for short term benefits but we don't know their circumstances so I don't judge them.

 

Mainly qidian is the legal way to translate them. Wuxiaworld used to be getting licensing agreements, but qidian apparently backtracked on future relations in favor of immediate benefits. Anyway if a TL keeps going on a qidian story, they'll likely be faxed with a situation of "come to us or we will legally take the project". Expect to see more qidian conversions, and do your best to completely ignore those releases if you are as fed up with their over reaching BS.

 

if u don't want to support qidian though but still want to read those novels.. google has the answer~ XD

I would wager WW has the editors earn a bit of the pie. Seems unlikely for part of the work to just be ignored. That being said supporting qidian just because they do the bare minimum of paying their employees seems like a bad argument. It's like giving a good Amazon review for a fake cell phone just because the people running the knockoff ring give the workers a fair share of the profits. A corrupt company will pay the employees, it doesn't make them any less corrupt.
