Just quoting random post of yours. The story isn't badly structured and the plot definitely flows. Big weak on the characterization which limits our ability to fully understand the reasoning behind actions and requires some suspension of disbelief. The grammar is a bit jarring places as well. Setting is negligible really. I don't think it has to be so coldly calculated, but I definitely think that he shouldn't have married her. In doing so he was only hurting himself. Without proper understanding of the character motivations, we can't properly divine the reasoning behind his actions
He's got some amazing patience and self-control. On another topic, I read the story, and I wished there was a happy ending for the Pope.
