Recommendations Military Advisors, Strategist, Weak Scholars

Hello!

I am looking for an ancient historical novel focusing on a character that is not a military general but is focusing on the side of said general, advising them on tactics and strategies on the battlefield and meybe beyond that in The Court of imperial palace's very own silent war. No romance please I don't like het romance very much, BL ones are welcomed tho i don't know if we can get a GOOD military advisor character novel plus that said character having a bf with that bf the general maybe *wink*

in essence:
-thinker not a fighter
-scheming slick foxy
-tactician, strategist, isn't useless on their own but is maxiized in their forte which is scheming
-romance only if BL if not then no romance or the romance part is just a side piece little focus to it

 

The Grandmaster Strategist fits your requirements pretty well, the romance is minimal too. Also Nirvana In Fire, in case you haven't read/watched it already.
