    Monster Raider Mini-RPG

    You were once valiant heroes. Because of some reason – be it battle or illness – you had died. But your souls still yearned for battle and to satisfy that yearning, you were given a chance.

    Rows upon rows of bodies appear before you, each possessing a class. There were four main starting classes in total:

    1. Warrior – strong and robust with mastery over hand-to-hand combat as well as weapons and armor.
    2. Mage – weak but knowledgeable with mastery over a number of spells.
    3. Ranger – fast and cunning with mastery over traps, ranged weapons, and stealth.
    4. Cleric – weak alone but powerful in a party with mastery over healing, buffs, and debuffs.

    Which class do you choose? The choice is yours. But choose wisely as each class can be evolved once a certain level has been reached.

    Starting Class Standard Evolutions:
    Warrior classes can later evolve to Monk, Lancer, Swordsman, Shielder, or Barbarian classes. Or they can hold off to level 20 to become Grand Warrior.

    Mage classes can later evolve to Fire Mage, Water Mage, Earth Mage, Necromancer, or Wind Mage classes. Or they can hold off to level 20 to become Grand Mage.

    Ranger classes can later evolve to Hunter, Sharpshooter, Beastmaster, Thief, or Assassin classes. Or they can hold off to level 20 to become Grand Ranger.

    Cleric classes can later evolve to Healer, Paladin, Priest, Shaman, or Druid classes. Or they can hold off to level 20 to become Grand Cleric.

    Student classes can later evolve to Artist, Musician, Storyteller, Mocker, or Laudator. Or they can hold off to level 20 to become Scholar.

    Special Classes:
    There is also a probability for players to unlock special classes depending on the skills they acquire in their raids. In addition, apart from the four original starting classes, new starting classes could be unlocked with success in certain raids and adventures.

    Skills
    One Word – Use a word from the Tome of Knowledge. Ability varies depending on the word runes. Cannot be evolved. 5 MP.

    Equips:
    Tome of Knowledge - An advanced version of Tome of Words. Allows Student to store up to 15 one-word runes. Currently contains three words - Hit, Miss, and Boost. Must equip as Main Hand. Cannot be dropped or unequipped. Can be leveled and evolved.

    Runes:
    Hit - (1d2 + INT) verbal DMG done to enemy. Can be leveled but Cannot be evolved.
    Miss - Enemy rolls 1d10 (1-6 fail, 7-10 success). Enemy misses an attack if roll fails. (Debuff Reaction). Cannot be leveled or evolved.
    Boost - Adds 10 extra DMG to an ally's next attack. (Buff Reaction). Can be leveled - adds +10 to DMG for each level up. Max DMG is 200. Cannot be evolved.

    Starting Occupations
    Blacksmith Apprentice:
    • Learns to make common (Tier 1 to 2) armor, weapons, and accessories.
    • 1d10 chance of success, where 8-10 is success and 1-7 is failure.
    • Blacksmith skill: each skill point added will decrease minimum success value by 1.
    • +1 to STR and CON
    • To upgrade: must be Level 10, must have made 10 different armor, 10 different weapons, and 10 different accessories
    • Upgrades to Blacksmith
      • +2 to STR and CON, can make uncommon (Tier 3 to Tier 5)
      • 1d10 chance of success for uncommon equips (8-10 success, 1-7 failure) requires 2 skill points to level up
      • weapons and other equips are 10% more effective when a Blacksmith uses it.
      • To upgrade, user must be Level 20 and must create 10 new different armor, 10 new different weapons, and 10 new different accessories (must be your creations and not someone else's)
    Brewer Apprentice:
    • Learns to make potions and other stuff
    • 1d10 chance of success, where 8-10 is success and 1-7 is failure.
    • Brewer skill: each skill point added will decrease minimum success value by 1.
    • +1 to INT and +5 to MP
    • To upgrade: must be Level 10, must have made 15 different potions and 15 different other items in Sage's Brew
    • Upgrades to Alchemist
      • +2 to INT and +10 to MP
      • Can make enchantments as well as talismans
      • Consumable items created by Alchemists take two uses to consume
      • To upgrade, user must be Level 20 and must have created 15 new different potions and 15 new different other items (must be your creations and not someone else's)
    Chef Apprentice:
    • Learns to make food
    • 1d5 chance of success, where 3-5 is success and 1-2 is failure.
    • Chef skill: each skill point added will add 10 bonus HP to food's properties.
    • +1 to CON and +10 to HP
    • To upgrade: must be Level 10, must have made 15 different foods and 15 different drinks
    • Upgrade to Chef
      • +2 to CON and +20 to HP
      • Takes 2 skill points to add 10 bonus HP to food's properties
      • Food that have been successfully created by the user can create them 100% of the time afterwards.
      • To upgrade, must be Level 20 and created 15 new different foods and 15 new different drinks (must be your creations and not someone else's)
    Scavenger Apprentice:
    • Expert at looting bodies (scavengers must be in the participating party)
    • Loot upon completion increases by 10%, rounded down. Doesn't work if scavenger in party dies.
    • Scavenger skill: every skill point added will increase percentage by 5%.
    • Maxed level at 50%
    • +2 to DEX
    • To upgrade: must be Level 10 and loot increase is up by 50%
    • Upgrades to Treasure Hunter
      • +4 DEX, loot can increase to 100% and requires 2 skill points to increase by 5%.
      • Treasure Hunters get to choose another reward from the Rewards List after everyone else has chosen.
    Builder Apprentice:
    • Improves city's defenses and buildings
    • Must provide drawings and descriptions of buildings and defenses.
    • Builder skill: gains double money from transactions.
    • +1 to STR and DEX
    • To upgrade: must be Level 10, must have built/improved 15 different buildings
    • Upgrades to Builder
      • +2 to STR and DEX
      • Fighting near your creations boost your attack damage by 10% (can be upgraded)
      • To upgrade, must be Level 20 and have built 15 new, different buildings (must be your creations and not someone else's)

    Sub-Occupations:
    Raid Master Tier 1:
    • Leads monster raids
    • Can only lead monster raids that player has participated in before.
    • Raid Master skill: +1 to INT and DEX, gains half of the loot acquired upon leading a completed raid (if loot was 10 G and 20 EXP, raid master who led the raid gets 5 G and 10 EXP, if raid master participated and led the same raid, they will get 15 G and 30 EXP)
    • Leads 10 soldiers during sieges.
    • To upgrade: must be Level 10, must have defeated 5 bosses, must have led 15 different raids --> upgrades the extra loot gain to a full portion (if loot was 10 G and 20 EXP, raid master who led the raid gets 5 G and 10 EXP, if raid master participated and led the same raid, they will get 20 G and 40 EXP); doubles the amount of soldiers allowed to lead during sieges.
    • Cannot take on other sub-occupations in the future.
    Raid Master Apprentice has become a subclass called Raid Master. Different from the starting occupations or starting classes, this sub-occupation levels up in tiers from 1 through 10.
    Explorer Tier 1:
    • Explores the Monster World
    • Must write 5,000 word report per location and diplomatic relations. Must write 500 word report on scouted monsters.
    • Explorer skill: each skill point added will decrease minimum word limit by 250 on reports for location and diplomatic relations and by 25 on reports for scouted monsters. Max 10 skill points.
    • +2 to DEX, have resistance to attack (damage halved) from monsters explored by the explorer, attacks double on monsters explored by the explorer.
    • To upgrade: must be Level 10, must have explored 5 new locations, must have scouted 20 new monsters, must have made diplomatic relations with 5 new civilized places.
    Explorer Apprentice has become a subclass called Explorer. Different from the starting occupations or starting classes, this sub-occupation levels up in tiers from 1 through 10.

    Crafting:
    Other than the Raid Master Apprentice and the Explorer Apprentice occupations, the other occupations require some sort of crafting. When crafting, please write about it in detail and post it under the corresponding crafting location. Also, if possible, provide a picture for players to reference to. Builders should provide drawings of the buildings and defenses they will be building as well as their locations. And if the item you are creating is the first one of its kind, you will be tasked with making the step-by-step recipe. In other words, if the item hasn't been created before, make the item first and then add in the recipe.

    Once players crafted an item, they can have it identified at the Shop. Upon identification, the players can choose to keep the item or sell it at a fixed price.

    Exploring:
    Post your explorations and diplomatic ventures in detail in Monster World.

    How to Play:
    Create Your Character:
    Make a character by choosing one of the four classes and one of the four races above. Make sure to add the racial bonuses to your character. Add your character name and gender as well as how much money you start out with. All new players start out with 10 gold and a starting weapon. As time goes by, players can earn consumables from completed raids that they can store in their inventory and use for the next raid or sell to the Shop.

    Warriors can choose from club, spear, or sword.
    Mages can choose from sword or club.
    Rangers can only choose bow.
    Clerics can choose from spear or club.
    Students can only equip Tome of Knowledge.
    The starting weapon has no bonuses to attacks and skills.

    Signing Up:
    After you created your character and it gets approved, you can chat with other players (IC or OOC – if you’re gonna chat OOC, make sure to denote it like this [OOC]) in the Lounge. You can trade items and even RP with each other if you want.

    When monster raids are available, players can sign up to join a raid. There is a player limit for each raid so first-come, first-serve. Once the player limit is reached, the raid will begin. Naturally, raids can be beaten with less players as well.

    Raiding:
    The raids take place in one of the many locations in the Monster World. Currently, there are four known locations – Dungeon, Forest, Plains, and Mountains.

    This game heavily uses NUF Dice Roller – justabot. To roll a dice, type “!roll min, max, number” without the quotations. Min denotes the lowest value of the dice and max denotes the highest value. Number refers to the number of dice. So, a 1d2 = rolling a two-sided dice = !roll 1, 2, 1.

    At the start of each raid, everyone rolls a 1d20 to see who goes in what order. If two or more players roll the same number, then can determine attack order using their DEX. Higher DEX goes first. If the DEX is also same, players can re-roll or converse between themselves to determine who should go first. If player rolls the same number as the monster, player goes first. During a person’s turn, a person can choose to use a skill, use a consumable, move away from the monster, or skip his or her turn. Now, if the player moves away from the monster and doesn’t have a ranged attack, he or she cannot attack unless he or she moves close to the monster.

    When it gets to the monster’s turn to attack, it will make an attack against one of the players in range. Before the monster lands its attack, the targeted player along with other players with buffing/debuffing skills can make a “reaction” move to lessen the damage of the enemy attack. After that, the monster will attack and then end its turn. Higher leveled monsters can attack more than once but players can only react to one attack per round.

    After each raid, rewards including equips, exp, money, consumables, skill books, bonus skill points and/or bonus stat points are given. When a character levels up, they get 10 stat points and 3 skill points. Their EXP requirements double from previous requirements. For instance, Level 1 is out of 100, Level 2 is out of 200, Level 3 is out of 400, and so on.

    Note: Rewards are such as money and exp are fixed. Rewards such as equips, consumables, bonus skill points, bonus stat points, and skill books are listed out according to the number of players in the party. Whoever has a higher DMG output gets first pick of the rewards. Of course, be considerate to your party when choosing a reward. If you're a warrior, don't take something not useful to you such as a clerical item.

    Note
    : If you die in combat, you cannot attack the monster anymore unless you are resurrected by a clerical class.

    After the Raid:
    After the raid, players can equip their rewards as well as store their consumables in their inventory. In addition, players can sell unused items in the Shop for gold which they can save and use later on to buy items from the Shop.

    When a player gains new stat or skill points, they can use the points to improve their character. One stat point can increase any of the STR, DEX, INT, or CON by one. The same stat point can also increase HP by 10 or MP/STA by 5. One skill point can add another side to a skill’s dice. For instance, a skill with a 1d2 will become 1d3 if a skill point was added into the skill.

    Better weapons and armor provide bonuses to the STR, DEX, INT, or CON stats. Some of the equips even come with a skill or two. Naturally, some of these skills can also be learned from skill books which are either bought from the Shop or looted from the raids. To learn a skill, there are stat requirements.

    Players can evolve their character class once they reach a certain stat requirement and level requirement. The first evolution is at level 10. The maxed attributes one can have at level 10 is 2000 HP, 1000 STA, 1000 MP, 500 ARM, 200 STR, 200 CON, 200 INT, and 200 DEX. EXP stays the same after level 10 for five levels before tripling and staying the same for five levels again. This loop continues till level 50. A Player needs 2 stat points to level up once. A Player needs 2 skill points to level up once as well.
    Please add your updated character sheet in your signature so that Raid Masters can easily view them during raids.

    Update
    : When players reach level 5, they will be given a skill upgrade point which can only be used on a non-occupational, maxed-level skill (d20). For instance, if a skill was 1d20 and you're at level 5, you can use a skill upgrade point to upgrade the skill to rank 2 and your dice roll will be 1d20 + 1d2.

    close. Thief is actually a class you can evolve to once you reach a certain level and stat requirement in Ranger. So change your class to Ranger instead.

    Update:
    I added an extra rule to how rewards are distributed.
    Note: Rewards are such as money and exp are fixed. Rewards such as equips, consumables, bonus skill points, bonus stat points, and skill books are listed out according to the number of players in the party. Whoever has a higher DMG output gets first pick of the rewards. Of course, be considerate to your party when choosing a reward. If you're a warrior, don't take something not useful to you such as a clerical item.
