@AliceShiki Btw Alice, when do we submit theme suggestions for June? I just thought of one---fictogemino, a story that can be read both forwards and backwards and make sense either way. If you're really good at it you can basically make two stories in one. It seems to be more popular in Indonesian fiction, b/c that's where I first heard of the term~

And actually, if anyone else has any other suggestions, please do tell them! We should have 6 more days before we change for June's theme, so it would be nice if we could get the next themes in 2 or 3 days at most! >.<

June is named after the Roman goddess Juno who is the goddess of marriage and a married couple’s household. So maybe we can try romance or romcom

 

Well, this is a bit too broad I think? We need a bit less generic of a topic...

 

I don't think broad is a bad idea since we are free to operate on more topic than usual but well if you want something specific, "The hero proposed to me but I am the demon king"

 

Ah, I think more specific is better because we have a starting point.

As in, with only a genre, it gets hard to know what to do, having a sentence or so to direct the writing makes it easier IMO~

And this seems like a pretty nice topic!!! \(^^)/

 

Traveling journey

 

Themes: Lights Out

As a child, your parents always told you to switch on the nightlight when you slept. Bound a childish sense of obedience, you kept it up for years, even after you started attending schools overseas. Living in a place far away from home, and empowered by a grown-up pride, you decide to switch off all the lights for one night. As it approaches midnight, nothing happened, causing you to snicker at your childhood cluelessness.

Then the bedframe of your temporary lodgings shake, and the wind begins to howl.

Theme: Sinners

You are one of seven, one of the greatest. Living far away from humans, you amass your powers, awaiting the day of reckoning. Yet, one day, you wake to the sound of cannonfire and explosions. You have been betrayed, your castle compromised. Two options are left to you: Stay and fight to the bitter end, or run and live to fight another day.

 

Oooooooh, ideas~

 

I think if the start is handed out to the writers, it's makes it easy for them to write. This is even better than themes from where I see it. There are some examples bellow.

You are one crazy person, you know that right...

A car is moving on a desolate street. The couple inside are unaware of their fatal predicament. Soon the boyfriend realises the fact that the brakes aren't working, and a shadow can mysteriously be seen on the road...

 

Ah, giving the start isn't much to my taste, because it might conflict with my writing style~

I prefer just working on a given theme instead~

 

I mean, no one said you had to conform to that. Wasn't the whole point was for the prompts to give peeps trouble thinking of ideas a boost?

 

I think it's just to practice writing a bit and give feedback to one another?
