This is more a genre than a tag, but "Historical". Proper historical novels can be amazing, with better world building than even the most creative writer can generate, and can ooze with tons of detail and flavor. Too bad most of the "historical" books on NU are fakes with no connection to real history.

 

I'm not sure I could sum up what I'm missing with a single tag, for example there are plenty of novels with an "adventure" genre tag yet I feel there isn't enough straight adventure stories that doesn't get derailed by overcomplicated plots, you don't need the mc to save the world or beat up gods for it to be a good adventure, even just a story of a character simply travelling can be thrilling if written well.
I guess other things I would like to see more of is well researched "Historical" stories or "Politics" tagged stories that actually care about showing consistent politics.
What I most want to see though is stories about merchants in a historical or historically-inspired setting, hell I would be fine with a xianxia even as long as the mc remained a physically weak merchant that can't resolve everything by beating it up.
