Recommendations Most tragic Chinese dramas

    Hi everyone, this is the first time I initiated a post on novelupdates' forum so thanks beforehand for your attention. So, I'm learning Chinese and one of my classmate wants to see some dramas but I really don't know much about Chinese dramas (only a little of Korean dramas) and besides, his criteria for watching a drama it's that it has to be tragic, literally, a drama in all sense of the word. Anyone has good suggestions? Hope everyone will stay healthy ☕

    Hold up, The Untamed is Mo Dao Zu Shi? I didn't watch the show because the trailer for it on Netflix was offputting, but the anime was pretty good....

    Ten miles of peach blossoms though it was later found to be plagiarized... the drama is still pretty good though.

    Goodbye My Princess is a good tragic drama, it has a good storyline, good actors and actreeses, good acting, good music as well, it is a period drama and the place where they film is beautiful and the costumes are good too, even I still feel like crying if I listen one of the ost's... Oh, it has a novel too called eastern palace in novelupdates

    Yep pretty much the same plot..... removed the BL parts... (like toned it down to cute bromance at most)... They did modify some details but the feels are mostly there

    It has a novel and manga too. If u only watch the anime.... anime is only kinda half the story for now. But drama and novel are complete

    these basically are the best Chinese Dramas for me

    There was an old novel where a guy was looking for girls, but his dad said he slept with all of their moms.
    He used finger style kung-fu if I remembered it correctly...

    I’m sorry this is not really related to your post, but what are you using to learn Chinese? I tried and found it too hard.

    On November of last year a course opened near my workplace so I subscribed and took an in-person class once a week and three online classes through Skype. Coincidentally, this year the Chinese New year was on the day of the in-person class and it was really interesting
