Discussion most ugly yet most beautiful

Just a question which I thought about while reading an chinese novel
that the most ugly thing but also most beautiful thing in the world is the human heart
(while some are saints and other dont care about the method to get what they want)

what are your thought about what the most beautiful yet the most ugly thing is

 

... I never once thought the human heart is beautiful, because it is something that can never be tested under stress.

Beautiful yet ugly... I would go for nature and her destructive side. Seeing how Mother Gaia slapping the shit out of humanity never fails to amaze me, yet I never want to even be close when it happens.

I personally would expand that from just the human "heart" to anything "human." The lives we live, the actions we carry out, the very things we build all have a certain ugliness attached to them.

 

Guard your heart with all diligence, for from it flow springs of life.

I'm not religious or anything but this line is something I ponder about every now and then. And it has a new meaning every time I encounter something new.

Now being a bit more serious, I'd say life and relationships. Life and be really ugly, you can suffer a ton and the world doesn't care, but there are also times in which you are happy and life is beautiful.
Same for relationships. Most are either neither good or bad, a few are really fucking ugly and probably even fewer are really beautiful. A toxic partner is a damn ugly relationship, but a parent that protect his or her child with their own life in an earthquake, I'd say that's beautiful in a sense. I guess with relationships I'm also putting human nature in, which can probably be both beautiful and ugly, but it's mostly ugly.

Was refering to aftermath, when you see how much death and destruction it caused, that shit scary.

Also extending to that logic, bombs, specifically A bombs.

 

Newborn babies. Their parents think they're the most beautiful but everyone else think they look like hairless monkeys.
