The whole soul/necromancer mages/wars issue is ... complicated. The Lich is tied to necro camp and seems like the only reason he is participating in the assault of Cyoria is making sure as many their mages survives as possible. I just think the QI (Quatach ichl or whatever) does not like what he's been doing for a long time and he's too emotional to just get rid of all the connections he had over the years.

Silverlake is scheming something, but hard to get the ploy. It is pretty likely that she is a high ranking member of cult.

I seriously doubt that is a cultist. it just doesn't fit the way she has been personalized so far.

Also recall her history. born a witch, she fell out with the covens because she didn't care for their traditions and wanted to get the best of both witchcraft and alchemy. Her ambition is sky high, she actually made herself immortal... yea, I am just not seeing someone like that joining a cult to worship some monster

The different cult / society than Dragon cult who is going to perform primordial summoning then.
She is quite ancient. She's very well connected (look at the fuzz she created when started investigating Z&Z). Pretty unhealthy interested in primordials (and most likely it lead her to current expertise in pocket dimensions). She's bound to be a member of ELITE OP Immortal group with weird fetishes for power. Dragon cult is trying to milk primordial via their ritual but it does not mean there aren't any other groups/cults who have similar goals.
The Ghost serpent is the closest thing to the primordial we've seen (low powered and abused as well) so it is hard to tell what kind of primordials are there.

This is exactly why they shouldn't get involved with him.

A cult worships something and exploits its stupid gullible members.
An elite alliance of immortals sounds more like a shadow conspiracy, illuminati style, than a cult.

New chapter is up... and it again felt a bit shortish...
Some of the mysteries are unraveled (apparently zach huge mana resources) , also the primary function of crown is revealed.
This particular restart is going to be frigging busy (they started with hijacking the flying ship), messed with wasps and now the lich...

Silverlake is the team damage magnet at best (in online game terms - always draws aggro on random mobs which are supposed to be left alone), at worst she's playing along with QI.

Well, that crown seems like the perfect artifact for Zorian. With it, he could make 9 clones of himself, and they’d all have access to an amount of mana equivalent to the original without the crown. Alternatively, it could allow him to practice more, fight longer and use bigger spells. It'd be even better if the mana it held was a set amount rather than an actual multiplier, since otherwise, Zach would be the better candidate for it.

It’s a really bad idea to carry that card around. Honestly, he shouldn’t even have picked it up. Just memorize the address and destroy the card.

Yeah, they should really try not to bring her into the loop if they don't absolutely have to. Personally, I think Zorian's being too generous in assuming that it was an accident.

The crown does not help Zorian at all. The problem with simulacrums is "upkeep" - in a way it cuts down mana regen since a lot of it is consumed for simulacrums. Crown allows to store some of the mana, but it does not impact mana regeneration rate. It allows to store 10x mana (maybe more), but it does not give 10x regen.

The card is pretty safe to carry. It is easy to cast some divination spells to see if it has some tracking spells and I guess if you give the card at the address you are treated differently by reception people.

The best news for Zorian is clues about divine blessing. the 2x multiplier is for massive mana pool people like QI or Zach and 2x rate is a massive simplification so it is easier to understand for people. Chances are it would give larger boost for smaller mana pools (lets say 5x, more) since the smaller pools are easier to stabilize.
Also it seems the Zach being key person in the loop is in a way divine intervention - angels gave him it and pushed into time loop. Zach is a divine agent.... :)

The problem that it fixes for Zorian is the shared mana pool. All the clones share his. So, if his is 10x larger or more, then each clone will be able to use as much as the original would have been able to without the crown. In a lot of circumstances, it’s likely to be a far more effective use of it than simply allowing him to cast more or larger spells.

The lich has had millennia to become better at magic than them. Why take the risk?

I’m sure the lich will leave word that they’re to be allowed in, regardless of whether or not they have the card. Even if he hasn’t, getting his attention wouldn’t be difficult at all.

It sounded like the 2x was an intentional choice. Altering it to 5x or whatever, would likely take a much deeper understanding.

The main problem is the mana regeneration, not one extra mana storage. It may improve situation a bit during battle for extra 10 minutes, but nothing more. This battery does not help with any training (like dimensionalism, stuffing marbles into box) where mana is constantly used and needs to be regenerated.
The crown for Zach would improve his firepower much more. He would be able to dish out VERY destructive magic around for much longer. Zach is 100x better fit for crown compared to Zorian.

It gives them chance for peaceful interaction. The only time duo were able to damage lich was then Zorian duped lich by pretending to bribe him with soul banishing coin imitation.
Imagine then visiting them, claiming to learn some knowledge from him. First give him divine dagger for some divine knowledge. Then ask another tricky question and offer him two duped items with soul banishing. Chances are he will pick those up easily and there's an easy crown to pick up.

So far data we have about divine blessing and effect it has is two people with high top end 25 mana initial pool got blessing and their spool/capacity doubled retaining mana manipulation difficulty. All we know for sure this blessing acts as stabilizer over the soul and it provided the same mana improvement for both of them. My claim that the stabilizing frame over soul with smaller pool capacity might give better benefits - more than double mana capacity/regeneration. It may also mean that this particular blessing pretty much maxes out the mana pool to the top value. Until we do not see any other comparable people (initial mana pool and pool capacity after the blessing other then top end) any speculation is as good as any.

It really depends on exactly what the crown does. If it's just a straight multiplier, then sure, Zach is better. But if it's a set increase, then I'd still say Zorian is better. He can recharge the thing in his sleep if he needs to, and ten minutes in most battles is an eternity.

The lich fell for it the first time because he viewed Zorian as a nobody. He now views him as an enemy. The odds of it working are minimal at best, and the odds of being able to reliably replicate the incident are basically nil. Also, they can interact with him peacefully without the card. If it's just a card, then it doesn't matter in the slightest, and if it's not, then it should definitely be destroyed sooner rather than later.

True, but I'd tend to believe the lich's guesses. He's had a few millennia to ponder the issue.

    It's probably a straight multiplier.

Normally, I'd lean that way too, but Zorian is the MC.

Zorian will obviously find and angel and get him to bless him. Well in the real world, and that will take a while.

Why would it need to be in the real world? It's a soul construct. It'll carry over to the real world if he himself does.

It's a divine magic. I've actually asked author about divine magic on his wiki and he replied:
It is indeed not accessible for non-divine entities. Even the angels are basically drawing upon certain blessings and mechanisms left to to them by the gods rather than being innately capable of it themselves.
So no, only divine creatures can do that and currently this world is disconnected from spiritual plane.

Ah, for some stupid reason, I thought you meant he'd reverse engineer the blessing from the construct in the gate and create his own version of it. I need to learn to read more carefully.

QI (Mr.Saruwatha) ancient lich(and archmage) who live millenium years, know some lost and resctricted magics, have knowledge of bygone eras and willing to share it to historians, with all of that and he still didn't know about Time loop, I'm bit sceptical.
From Ghostly Serpent it was known that Time loop is regular phenomena that always happen every 400 years, maybe he have some acquaintance or even a friend who's previous time looper or maybe QI himself was one.:eek::eek:
