They are working together on the summoning. The cult is not acting independently.
I forgot about the soul based relaying upgrade he got. However, the point stands that it is difficult to open a gate to another continent since it requires some means of coordinating over long distances.
    1. literally your entire point is that ibassans will want to move to the lush jungle because its got richer resources.
if it was not helpful to them then they would not even want it even if zorian offered it to them.

    2. you quoted me saying that zorian has no reason to want to help an "enemy". So the parenthesis question is one of trying to put words in my mouth... however, it just so happens I happen to agree with the tangent you put in my mouth, so lets discuss it.

Step 1: MC helps them to colonize another continent with richer resources.
Step 2: They build up their powerbase using those new resources. More people, more soldiers, more weapons, etc.
Step 3: They come back to conquer MC's continent (which was always their plan since they were deposed) now that they are stronger.

    This is not rocket science.

    Somethings I am curious about:

    1. During one of Zorian's early restarts, before he meets the aranea, he reveals he knows about the invasion to the linguistics teacher and the cranium rats are there and reveal this information resulting in his assassination. Why did this not reveal information about the time loop as well and thus attract attention likely from Red Robe?

    2. Part of the reason the gate spell is easy for traversing continents is the coordination between Zorian and his simulacra. Yet in chapter 71, we can see that Zorian does this with Damien, not one of the simulacra and does so trivially. Especially when the endpoint of the gate is so surprising to Zorian, and he expected it to be somewhere else. So is the gate spell trivial to do between two locations? Is there something else going on to explain this? Honestly the way the gate spell works (and how it isn't OP) is the most confusing part of the story.

Wow, there's a thread on "Mother of Learning"?

As of chapter 92, it seems like good and bad things are happening. I hope Kirielle lives through it.

Yeah a few of the better webserials have them, though MoL is the only one that sees regular posts.

The text said Fortov can charm a troll into not eating him. And here, we have a reader being charmed by Fortov, without any support from the actual text. and without any interaction with Fortov. No wonder Zorian is jealous of Fortov's charm.

We have had several interactions with Fortov, such that I can definitely say he has significant insecurities about his brothers. Further, we've had interactions with the other members of Zorian's family, such that we can say that Zorian is rather negatively biased against his family members and is extremely unreliable in his characterizations of them. Thus, I can extrapolate from what we've seen to speculate somethings about Fortov, his abilities and his character. Is it necessarily right? No. But is it certainly possible, even likely, based off of what we've seen? Yes.

Fortov isn't lazy about everything. For one thing, we know that he is a rather skilled musician (no expert, but skilled), and Zorian is tone deaf. It certainly is an example of something he learned and was good at and kept up with practicing, while Zorian is entirely incompetent at it.

I think very early on, there was a moment when his compartment was entered by a bunch of underclassmen girls who were very loud and he offered them the compartment and left to a different one.

I guess this chapter explains why Silverlake is not using simulacra.

When did this chapter say that?

Hasn't it been said before this chapter? She is the kind of person who cant stand the fact that there is more than one of her in existence. If she came into being as a simulacrum knowing she was going to die she would go crazy. Likely try to kill her original and vice versa.

Ok, my understanding is even with Zorian's personality, his simulacra throw minor wrenches into his life as some minor petty revenge since their life spawn is limited. With Silverlake's inclination to play games around with people, her own simulacra would bring many more disruptions on her life.
The warning you are thinking is more related to mind magic (the mind-mage simulacra might try to overwrite personality or something like this). There's a quote from chapter 62 when they found the spell in the ship:
So there's a risks of being attacked by simulacra, but if they diverge too much or something like this. And I'm sure it's the tricks/petty things which drive Silverlake nuts :) She is from the top of the line in regards of those things.
But if you got a better quote about Silverlake, you are welcome to share it.

I know it said it and I will find it when I'm not on Mobile. If anyone else remembers where this was said feel free to jump in and quote it. Won't be home for some hours.

As help if I recall correctly it was a discussion without SL. I am pretty sure it was a discussion between Zorian Zach and Alanic and it came up from Alanac that based on everything he knew of her she was not the type that could create simulacrums. Not because she didnt have the ability, but because she cant confront the idea that she will die. That there is more than one of her. It would drive her crazy. In the sense that she would start killing her original self.

It was more speculative but it was speculations from someone that knew her well in the past. And considering it is one of the only passages about SL and her reasons for not using Simulacrums it is the only in novel explanation for it we have.

Again if I jogged anyone's memory please quote it. If not I'll be doing a hunt when I get home tonight.

Edit: I really did like in this chapter how Zorian did the whole retrospective on himself and his simulacrums. Slower chapter definitely but touched on a lot of things that needed to be shown.

Because we need wait another week for new chapter, might as well to talk about Zorian accomplishment.

    >First is Zorian real magnitude, "Zorian believed his mana magnitude to be 8 when the story begun, but it is actually somewhat larger (10 to be precise; perfectly average), which was being masked by the fact his mind magic abilities were permanently locking down some it. Magnitude is set at birth and cannot be increased through training" (From MoLuniverse Basic of Magic-Mana QA by author). While it give Zorian disadvantage that his mana reserves would emptied more easily and his endurance problem would be an obvious flaw that everyone would try to exploit as much as possible when fighting him if they know, that avarage magnitude also give him advantage that's he can work shaping exercise more easily than mages who have larger mana reserves, Zack is exception because he had decades to hone his shaping skill.

    >Shaping skill, Shaping exercises are designed for use complex spells or make spell more powerfull and effect of shaping exercise making spell require less mana, giving a mage unstructured magical abilities, and some of them decreases the learning time of every spell and improves spellcasting in general. "The number of interesting training regimens and exotic exercises is vast, almost numberless, and people are less protective towards them than towards structured spells" (MoLuniverse Basic of Magic-Mana QA by author).

"No matter how much time they spend honing their shaping skills, people with huge mana reserves are outright incapable of performing some particularly finesse-focused spells – things like advanced mind magic, detailed illusions and complex alteration constructs, Most spells, even highly sophisticated ones, are designed for average mages – magnitude 8 to 12" (MoL ebook page 313 by Taiven).

In the start of story Zorian shaping skill is slighty above average students, with his average magnitude, Xvim mentorship, shaping exercise knowledge from people and books, a lot of time including time dilation chamber and his dedication, all of it make Zorian pretty damn good at shaping and by end of time loop like Nobody103 stated "Zorian had honed his skill shaping skill to virtual perfection" (chapter 93) and there's always improvement because Zorian tended doing shaping exercise in spare time. While Zorian is not mana monster like Zach, in this regard Zorian can be said shaping skill monster.

    >Spellwork, Zorian has vast knowledge of spell and experience with combat, a fair number of really simple ones, definitely it become reflexive, particulary some of his force spell are invisible because Zorian have technique that he's aware himself (MoL ebook page 703), three invisble spell that already known is magic missile, severing disc and honeycomb pattern shield(chapter 91) that maybe improvement of small hexagon shield. Magic missile is Zorian favorite spell, compare it with other combat spell it reuire small amount of mana even before Zorian doing serious and monstrous shaping exercise regimen, within time loop he honed this spell until it became reflexive, invisble and require less mana, Zorian can fire magic missile from 40-80(chapter 86), there’s someone who ask about this spell

“How many magic missiles can Zorian fire at this point in the novel?”

“Honestly? No idea”(MoLuniverse - Magic User PreIkosian Altazia by author), from it we can presume post loop Zorian can fire it more than 80, maybe almost 100.

    >Spell formulae, it require smart mind and knowledge how spell work, both something Zorian have. Across the restarts Zorian had make many magical devices from suicide ring, dimensionalism-specific divination compass that even impress QI(chapter 85), and handful of steel spheres densely covered in spell formula that can close spatial crack(chapter 91).

    >Blood magic, “There are basically three distinct ways to use blood magic. The first one is to simply use it as a power boost to enhance your spells in a critical moment. The second one is probably the most famous one. Or should I say infamous? It's basically ritually killing people to extract their life force, which is then used to cast spells. Usually demon summoning. The third method of using blood magic is related to enhancement rituals"(chapter 62). Zorian can burned some of his life force to make his spells hit harder. Have proficiency in magical enchantment, Zorian come into tunneler toad magic enchantment after a lot of practice in simple physical enhancements that aims to improve the user's strength, stamina, regeneration and so on(chapter 87). Most folks don’t use blood magic in magical enchantment because not only it’s dangerous it also harder than potion and usual mainstream enchantment, well it make Zorian a professional master by most standard. The only blood magic he never use is demon summoning but yes from the books he read he have knowledge how to do that.

    >Soul magic, Zorian gained experience in soul magic after numerous training with Alanic, memories from Sudomir and soul sight granting potion from Silverlake. He can use soul spell to attack enemy(say hello to big guy wielding strange saber in chapter 79). Zorian can created simularcum, a spell that Alanic consider as one of the major stepping stones towards becoming a lich, If you can cast that, you're halfway there already. Folks felt leery for the use of simularum, not mention the spell itself being a complete nightmare for criminal investigators, it should be noted there’s many stories that people have been killed by their own simulacrums in the past, hell yeah even Zorian can make his simulacrums sacrifice them self for the sake of original, have ability to snatch body and what make it’s scary is

“ Does that mean he is now technically a soul entity or soul possessor spirit?

“Yes, he basically is. He doesn’t intent to leave his old body, but he totally could with a little preparation.”(MoLuniverse – Magic User PreIkosian Altazia QA by author)”. The only thing that held Zorian to dabble into necromantic side of soul magic is his moral, seeing memories of Sudomir make Zorian know how dark this art, mind rape innocent people for knowledge make him felt leery and sick not to mention become full necromancer, while that moral make Zorian good, sane, and upright person it also “His soul magic is very good but also very incomplete, since he is unwilling to raise corpses and otherwise experiment on people’s souls too much. Real soul magic specialists wouldn’t be impressed with him or accept him as their equal, though they would be wary of his ability to defend against soul magic, which is entirely on par with a specialist like them” (MoLuniverse – Magic User PreIkosian Altazia QA by author)

    >Decent martial artist, not it’s no wuxia like martial artist, it’s more like hand to hand combat and use of weapon, due to the nature of the time loop Zorian consistently has the physicals of a somewhat out of shape 15 year old, and that is something he can't change. While he cant make improvement in physical growth Zorian is good combatant because he had instruction and training battle with Taiven, watching Naim fight and experience battling mages, merceneries, and special ops. Golem use animation and spell formulae, for golem to be good at combat the maker must have good at combat and perform it well enough for animation spell work correctly.

    >Divination, this field come naturally for Zorian because empath aid this field, more like all empath aid every mind related spell. “I just dump all the information the spells give me directly into my head. I'm innately talented at interpreting that, so there is no need to bother with a divination compass”(chapter 63)

    >Mind magic, everyone in here already know about Zorian might in this field, it’s Zorian best skill, it’s cheap in the term of mana cost, and in the recent chapter Zorian already can use mind editing. Once again Zorian is good moral character, he only use this toward people with threat and enemiy level, hell yeah if it’s threat level he would handycapped and damage them, for enemy level prepare for 100% mindrape, Zorian will looting their memories for every single precious magic and information then dump their corpse after that. Even he can beat Violet Eye dragon mage with mind magic. Also in the recent chapter Zorian has research a way to bypass mindblank, what a complete nightmare.

This comment about Zorian high end feat from author:

“If at the moment he can do stuff like defeat an Aranea patrol, what might some high end feats he could be capable be?”

“Theoretically he could defeat high end enemies like dragons, grey hunters and crystal oozes in full frontal battle where he relies on brute force only, no items and allies. He could make multiple simulacrums of himself and do several things at once. Make his own pocket dimension (though probably very small one). He could scatter magical sensors for miles around him and spy on a huge area at once. Totally rewrite someone's mind into something he finds more useful to his goals. Make a personal shield strong enough withstand several massed artillery volleys. Get so good at telekinesis that it becomes more precise than using his own hands”(Patreon post chapter 50 or World of Domagoj Mol Wiki)

It is good character development from a whiny edge teenager to become one of the best archmage and dangerous one, most of Zorian power come from learning, research, trial and error.

I read all this as impressions Silverlake made on the others. She's petty, with overblown ego, selfish and some hidden agendas. But it makes little sense as listing "don't want to die" as reason for not creating simulacras.

Just take it from another view. If Silverlake created simulacras previously what could have happened? Simulacra was crying "I don't wanna die" or something. SL has big enough ego to not care about simulacra feelings. She's alive, but what happens to simulacra it's not her problem. Her simulacra is not her.

Now if you look at the perspective of simulacra, even in case of Zorian they start pulling pretty stupid pranks (like inviting class mates on dates, bringing Kiriel into the storm, just throwing some wrenches into daily life). In the case of Silverlake based on her character her simulacra would just give her hell, plain sabotage, whatever. And I think this is the main reason she's not using simulacras. Instead of assisting her, they just into the way (anything stupid like breaking favourite stuff, burning resources/herbs, giving away wealth, whatever - just to annoy original Silverlake because simulacra is temporary and I think it uses its own short spawn to take revenge on original).
