I haven't watched it but I'll get to it. Just wondering if it's a BL series or Shounen-ai or just simply body-swap thing? To be honest I saw on it's Wikipedia that there's no romance. Then again, ain't trusting Wikipedia that much. Anyways if anyone knows, I appreciate it. The synopsis sounds like a shounen-ai plot (black belied ML) and I saw a glimpse of the ML thing to coax the MC. That made me wonder lmao.

Well if you are a Kdrama watcher, I recommend Melo is my Life ( Nature, or whatever word they went for the last in the title since I looked it up). Comedy, romance, no BL stuff ( there is a side chara couple who are mentioned as gay couple, and that's it). That and the movie where cops go undercover as a fried chicken restaurant are my extent of Kmedia. Their eps be long, yo.
As per @Owl1412 , it's loosely based on a CN net drama "Go Princess Go" which is a body-swap period drama. Haven't watched it, but heard it won some acclaim despite the questionable budget/production/acting and being in a conservative country. There are supposedly multiple endings because of heavy censorship. I've seen a few episodes of the KR drama since there are some good actors and production values. It supposedly has really good cable TV ratings too ... keeps popping up in weekly ranks of free streaming sites . Not sure how the KR drama stacks up, but I'm told the plot is slightly different and less frivolous than the CN drama. The gender identity gags were only in the first few episodes, then it moved on to more serious palace/presidential intrigue, which heavily implies it's not just a historical setting.
Really was looking forward on how will they'll handle the body swap thing. I mean if they, the Kr version went with the route of merging the souls then I'll be disappointed. As of what I got to see a few scenes from the Mr. QUEEN. It looks promising. I just hope it won't end with straight romance or if they ain't going with the BL route, then no romance at all. Man, hope Thai will try this series lmao.
Korea is not as liberal as they pretend to be. Sometimes they make Japanese look liberal. Your best bet is Taiwanese or Thai dramas if you want BL

The one with the side character that is gay is called XX The one with lesbian character is the only one that exists so I think it will be easy to find. I think Modern Farmer also has a gay character. I am Christian, so I don't agree with it but it is very easy to see Thai and Taiwanese dramas dominating pirate websites HIStory is one. They are a lot of Taiwanese independent movies that will scratch your BL itch. I am sure you must have seen Untamed or Addicted to Heroine.

Yes, it is the same story, they usually change the names. Unlike Taiwanese and Thai, there is no smut. I recall a couple of Japanese dramas with BL themes(one with a share house and one with a bachelor). I can't recall the names though Unlike the banned Addicted to Heroine, there will be zero kissing in Mainland Chinese dramas adapted from a BL novels
