What are your opinion on Mushoku Tensei adaptation? Do you like it? or do you got turned off by it? Any anime watcher coming from novel reader? From adaptation standpoint, how faithful are the adaptation from the source(novel)?
No complaints so far, and the fact that the Chinese took it off bilibili is crazy. And this has been more faithful to the novels than the official English translations itself so far.
The biggest issue with mushoku tensei will be people who think its a typical kids story, when its a slice of life dealing with depression, family, redemption, and a perverted man. The story was hated when it was being actively translated (i don't know if it was a majority or a vocal minority doing the hate). But i kinda expect it to be hated when the anime was coming out to be honest. I can't wait for more, favorite anime this season. PS... Aisha didn't deserve that treatment author...
so far they've only cut/shortened a few non important scenes (the dance scene for example, they explicitly explained that the signals he give to her are actually the same signals ghislaine give them when they are sparing, signaling feints and else) apart from that they are quite faithful to the novel and the animation is neat. The only bad point I would give is about the visual cesor of hitogami, they put their common white veil while a pixelated mask would have been much funnier (they would also have a short back ad forth about his appearance at first in the novel) (the futur characters camo are quite nice too)
It has exceeded my expectations and if they continue this done properly, this will become a classic and push the boundaries of animation

Naw the chinese and thier censorship is crazy, not surprised it happened, just saying its crazy. Chinese censorship is just on another level. And for it being a kids show thats kinda what happened tho for example with billi billi they didn't expect the show have things they didn't want in it till they watched it and took it down. If you were to show the trailers for the show no one would know how perverted it is. Unless they already know the source material.
TBH, I have mixed feelings about the animation style. Although it is neet, sometimes gorgeous but has old school feeling to it. If they are considering it as a long continuous project such style is acceptable, but for 24 ep season, they could have put more work considering the scale of work and its value. Same for the Character's design. BGM is good and the story is faithful to the novel. Overall I am satisfied.
Pretty great so far. They seem to be very purposeful on their choices of what to cut and what to leave in based on what's important to the story and characters. Also the animation and style is absolutely amazing. Plus getting to watch other people react to the story has been a fun bit of entertainment I didn't know I wanted. Speaking of which, I can't wait for... BIG SPOILER Spoiler The inevitable rage when Roxy and Rudy completely miss each other in town. It feels so contrived until you realize later on that Hitogami purposely led Rudy away from everywhere Roxy was looking.
