It's not on Ridi sadly. I assume there might be some stupid misunderstanding at the ML's part about FL which he ain't willing to solve it out by asking her cause of self-esteem and ego.
Sadly that seem to be the case, the ML was a commoner but he is a genius investor, he was granted the title Baron, by marrying the FL, he is given the title Marquis. The FL previously engaged with The Prince, but because of her brother debt, her father who look down on ML married her off with him but even after her father dead, her brother still continue gambling and the ML has to pay his debt. Let's call it Pride and Prejudice, I wouldn't call it miscommunication since the ML didn't even give a chance for them to talk at all.
It's a bit much to say it's P&P, though the subtext is slightly there. Even Elizabeth and Darcy talk, and while Darcy was somewhat classist, and snobbish, he used mostly good manners with Elizabeth. This sounds like this "husband" caricature is downright emotionally and verbally abusive with Heathcliff level of possessiveness. Imagine if Navier never got divorced from Soviesh and was dying/sick the whole time Rashta/Soviesh shenanigans were happening, and that was the story to the end... So I truly do wish this to be a tragedy, similar to Me Before You...or Othello.
I guess her husband is the ML. Gosh! I'd rather have MC love other man again than to continue a toxic relationship with her husband. I don't know if I should give it a try, I had enough trauma of reading abusive romance novel. I hope authors stay true to their Novel's Title! Please someone spoil?!

The husband is the ML obviously, and he has some kind of prosthetic legs/arm something, he didn't want his weak minded wife to know about this and gone crazy, that's why he is avoiding her like a plague. Sound like BS right? For someone who supposedly worry about his wife mental heath, he has the audacity to speak dagger every time he open his mouth.
