I've been puzzling out a name for a novel i've been working on and i've finally been able to settle down to three options. I thought i'd canvass the NUF population on which one they think sounds better. ===================== Thread is now redundant as story is up on scribblehub. Poll picked the one i liked the sound of so it wins. woooooooo. Check out the story on scribblehub
Shattered, cuz it sounds like it is in pieces, like my confidence and dignity in the christmas party.
i dunno, for the fractured and shattered version the horizon word dont seem to fit well. Maybe if you changed it to heaven or something it'd roll of the tongue better.
Shattered horizon gives me an imagery of the skies slowly breaking apart like one big glass dome. It seems awesome.
Fractured makes me think that the political unity of the world fell apart and infighting broke out. Sundered makes me think of an individual that went against the society and rend it to pieces. Shattered - something singular of impossible strength struck and submerged everything in chaos and isolation. So what is your story about?
*Le me see the poll* ''This title need more appeal and japanizing"-me "How about [Our Horizon Which Broken Apart That Day] "-me "You can only pick from the three ..."-Sabruness *Stare menacingly* "BUT I REFUSE"-me
I favor Shattered Horizon but i thought i'd put the poll up to see how things would swing. @Green Apple you actually hit upon the feeling behind why i favor Shattered. As for the topic of the story, it's a Zombie Apocalypse story. So Shattered fits exceedingly well. If it goes beyond 1 book, i might actually use Fractured for a future title.
Fractured, for me, is slowly broken by something that took its time, gradual yet inevitable. Sundered, for me, is abruptly broken caused by something formidable, creating an impact that lasted for a long time. Shattered, for me, is already broken, leaving only fragments. Depends on your plot I guess.
