Hello friends! I'm trying to find a phone and my budget is around 300-350USD/15,000-18,000php. I've tried researching on my own but as someone who is not tech savvy, I'm kind of lost. My old phone is an Asus zenfone max 2gbram/16gb which I bought 4 or 5 years ago. Yes, it is still working. This phone is like a brick, still surviving after all the abuse through the years. Prior to this, my phone was a Nokia which was also sturdy. I'm looking for a phone which is sturdy, good battery and a decent camera. Something that will last for 3-4 years cause I don't like changing phones(i don't like taking selfies just normal photos of the family or nature) I only use my phone for simple texting, calls, watching videos and reading. I'm thinking about buying Asus max pro m2 since it is from the same line? or maybe the zenfone 5 for better photos(the rear camera is more important). However, there are some comments saying max pro m2 has a lot of bugs and problems, so I am having second thoughts. Do you have any other suggestions? I've heard about Xiaomi, Huawei, Honor, and Vivo but I have never used those phones before. I've tried asking the stores but the salesperson keeps on pushing their own brands and saying negative stuff about the other ones. thanks!
My friend bought asus m2 and she was really satisfied with it! She said the performance was really smooth But if you want camera, xiaomi is the best choice man
Pocophone F1 (6GB + 64GB) Xiaomi Mi A2 (6GB + 128GB) Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite (6GB + 128GB) Are they sturdy? I'm not really the careful type. I know some will say, "put a case!" here. but I'm clumsy.
They say that xiaomi is quite good, you should try looking for more videos review about those phones and see.
The only downside I have found to Xiaomi is the lack of waterproofing, and speakers can be quiet. I have the Mi A1 and Mi Mix 3. I know the A1 lacks OIS or even EIS (image stabilizers) which can make the image blurry if you move or have Shakey hands. The Mi Mix 3 being a flagship costs significantly more ($600-700) range but it has a lot of cool tech.
If he can get a 128 gb storage, he will get it. Lmao but why would you take your phone to dive with you
Unbox Therapy has a really good videos on the pocaphone, though I do recommend looking up the bands your wireless carrier uses and which ones the phone supports to see if you can get 4G LTE or are limited to just 3G.
Underwater photos, listening/watching a YouTube video in the shower, and general clumsiness near water.
But i heard pocophone is somewhat brittle? But of course in the premises that one dont threw it off the fifth floor but for clumsy people like me (my phone banged on the desk numerous times whenever i pull it out of the drawer or leaps from my left hand cause sometimes my right hand slaps it off *i dunno how or why but it happens) im afraid it wont last long. And im considering max pro m2 too btw. In favor for that huge battery so i can play games longer though its kinda a let down it doesnt have fast charging. Everything else is covered by my other phone so yeah.. Will be following this thread!! Cause i wanna know too. Lol *sorry for bad engrish
ZTE are sturdy as well. Rarely having hardware problem. Xiaomi have sim card error camera and battery common problem
I heard this phone has screen bleeding? That happens to me too. Sometimes just taking it out of my pocket or bag, it accidentally falls.
I have a pocophone f1, no screen bleed from what I observe, but indeed many are complaining about it. For the A2, do note that it has no 3.5mm headphone jack. Mi8 lite no comment since I didn't check it out. All-round from my personal considerations, I settled with pocophone, but i do have a problem finding a good case. Nillkin which I normally use, didn't cover screen protector (screen yes, protector no. I broke 2 protectors due to that, in less than 5 months.)
