Does anyone know how to translate this better? 闘技大会 My ideas are, Competition meet Arena tournament Any ideas?
Well, If this is what I'll use, there's this one sentence in the novel that ruins it 'The tournament will be carried out in a tournament format.' SAD
Maybe "The competition will be carried out in a tournament format?" or maybe: "The fighting competition will be carried out in a tournament format?" Tournament format as in knock out? Round robin?
Take in to consideration how it fits. Considering what you just said maybe using Fighting Competition would fit better.
That's the whole sentence tho, I'll check it out. What I used first is martial arts tournament, so I'll keep in mind the other one. Jikuu Mahou
Depends on context? Fundamentally speaking, that simply says a gathering with the main focus as fighting skills, a gathering to discuss about a competition or a gathering where people compete with their skills. The first one is like a research seminar. I know some fighting skills, you know some and we are going to do something with it. It can be discussing, demonstrating or competing. The middle is as it says, you meet to talk about an upcoming competition or tournament. The last one is saying something like we are going to compete to test our skills. Or a tournament to test/compete with our skills. I am inclined to believe it is the last, then first and probably not the middle. If it is the last, others gave a good suggestion, fighting/martial arts competition/tournament. Using anything along those lines is fine, I think.
The first two kanji meant competion Thank you! I'll go with Martial arts competition, since I translated it already as Martial Arts tournament but I found out that it's not tournament. Thank you everyone!
Eh... I know I'm kinda late to the game, just want to verify if this is chinese or japanese. Cause this is one of those cases where the kanji/hanji are the same but the meaning are totally different.
