Here's an excerpt, taken from ch 526:
Chinese black eye color... Chinese. Black.
    ...
Now don't get me wrong, i'm guessing it's meant to describe the eyes through the use of what the color 'black' represents in Chinese culture. (I skimmed a bit on wikipedia and found it's linked to the element of "Water", probably through ink as calligraphy is pretty important in that regard.. so it's something like 'eyes as black as ink') But damn did this translation come out wrong!

    rant/
What do ya mean "Chinese black"? It's either black or it's not black. "Chinese black" my ass..
    /endrant

Anyway, i just read this and felt the need to say something 'out loud'. Feel free to get rid of it or whatever.

    'Chinese black'. Ahahahaha.

Ai-chan wonders if Chinese black is different from African Black. Is there a Japanese or Korean Black?

Maybe it means 'not actually black' because China people (that I know) seems to think even brown is a shade of black.

Chinese people like Fair things so much it's ridiculous... There are people in the west trying to get spray tan, while in China many of the the Chinese authors fantasize about doing a fair girl in absolutely creative new ways :blobjoy::blobjoy:

Jade skin is just to say more about how smooth their skin really is... The example is in the video wherein people believe eating sea food makes your skin smooth

Their novels are written for Chinese, by the Chinese. So..."Chinese Black" is probably......something for Chinese that's different from the typical "black" we know....I guess?

Not exactly related to "Chinese black" but related to eye color and black eyes but...

So my parents are Chinese and are pretty bad at English. They are also stubborn so they don't like to change their ways. Whenever they have to answer for my eye color, they'd always just say "black." So I found this pretty stupid and try to correct them and say that my eyes are dark brown tho they never listen. I don't know anyone that actually have pitch black iris. I know what my own eye color is and I can see why they might say "black" since it's dark, but you can't really say you have black colored eyes since those don't exist. I remember when I was in elementary and there was some "if your child gets lost, get an id for the child" thing. So on the form they wrote eye color as black. Luckily it wasn't like some official document. Thankfully my official docs and driver's permit weren't done or answered by them so it's the correct as dark brown.
