So basically this trope is about the girl's beauty causing trouble to the MC. Not like "oh a bunch of hooligans are attacking her! gotta beat them up!" Big trouble. More like "that super rich young master of that huge powerful sect falls in love with her so i gotta start a war with half the world to keep her / get her back" EDIT: talking about xianxia stuff mostly
... you mean like every female character who has had the minimum contact with the male character? That would fit nearly all Chinese novels I did read ... and didn't read (besides the BL stories, maybe).
Ok mb, looks like everyone's not a wuxia or xianxia fan. Why? Not necessarily: for example Spoiler: Returning from the immortal world Where the hero (for now) basically acts like an eunuch, and none of the girls have yet caused him much trouble Spoiler: Very pure and ambiguous Where the guy never has much of a problem at all, since the only time he really gets in trouble for a girl is not cuz the young master fell in love with her, it's cuz he ran her over with a car
Eventually, ALL FEMALE LEAD IN CN will turn into princesses who need their prince charming. Trust me, that is the unofficial definition of romance in these novels.
It would be easier to have a "no problematic beauty tag" as there are only handful of cn where a beauty does not cause universe engulfing wars
Ahh... beauty beauty beauty.... Damn xianxian... it's simple, as long as you see a "Harem" and "Cultivation" tag, there will be what you call a 'problematic beauty' which is the same thing as a character without any development or background, she is just here because... ... every novels need a bit of pointless and useless romance, isn't it ? *sarcasm* ...and of course since MC is overpowered, he is going to slaughter everyone for her... Yay... Agreed without any hesitation. *thumbs up*
That is hard to keep an eye on unless the novel itself is completed. The tag itself is vague imo What I understand when seeing the tag is there exists a beauty with problems such as yandere, psychotic, deranged or mentally challenged. In other words, it needs a more clear phrasing. If possible, I would prefer that we don't use tag that negates future possibilities like this. Others that fall under this are ones such as No Harem, No Rape.
The problem with thiis example is both situations are the same, except in the latter the hooligans are powerful hooligans. I think what you mean is more along wanting a tag for when the heroine is taken away, and the MC must power-up to get her back (i.e. Stellar Transformations) or when there are status issues (i.e. The Inverted Dragon's Scale, the MC is too low-status for some flags, or what I've seen in the Star Martial God Technique manhua where the MC is expelled because a princess grows interested in him.)
