it's been a while since I visited RRL *checks the website* It's "OK" I guess, nothing much surprising because the previous one have so much flaws. cannot agree more than that, if your english sucks (like me), don't post your fiction on it, the only thing you get is bashing (though not too harsh, it's still very painful 'honest' word). And if you said that place being used as business like, then yes, ever since RRL becoming very popular (I mean, isn't that obvious!?) they "know" that they have their own 'market'. It's okay to do something like that, it's profitable to both side actually, the writer/author and the web. (Sooner or later NovelUpdates probably going to do the same thing (marketing and etc) but as long as they are still friendly users, I think it's fine)
Some things like the new reader are great. However, others like the fact that the toplists are only 20 stories long (instead of the original 50) and the fact that they show stories by date rather than time (ex: October 12 vs 3 Hours ago) makes finding recently updated stories a lot more of a pain in the ass. Of course, that may be because I haven't fiddled around with the settings enough. So if you can actually change these settings, I would be really happy if somebody told me how to do so
Mod from RRL here. Gonna be lurking on this thread Sorry, can't be changed right now. However, once the bugs are hammered out we'll be updating new features onto the site. Make a thread in RRL's suggestion forum about it so the techies can see and consider implementing such a feature later on.
I think it's pretty cool and an all round great update, though i have noticed that when i write a comment my computer tends to tank and lag for a reason, plus i am not sure if this was a problem before the update, but is there a grammar checker in comments? Cause for some reason i my brain is telling me there isn't, but i'm too lazy to check
There is no grammar checker in the comments. However, the editor is compatible with grammarly if you have that.
That's a mystery solved, but i am curious if i'm the only one having the problem where writing a comment makes my computer scream in anguish (lol) and lag?
The Arcane Emperor. Went from unknown to front page on the rankings lol. Sorry i cant link im on my phone atm.
The editor is a bit glitchy right now so things like that are to be expected. The entire site will lag at odd times as the tech admins finish and release updates live while the site is running. Should only be a problem for next week or so.
He's just a bystander I assume. Unless he's an alt of one of the other mods. Which I severely doubt since the only staff from RRL that really frequent NUF is me and Kana, one of the admins. And we are both very open about our status as RRL staff here. Novelupdates just happens to share most of the same users as RRL so the site gets brought up in threads very often. I always keep my eye out for these threads when I'm waiting for a story to update so I can help out if necessary.
Hey there, I'm the aforementioned NU lurker RRL admin around Honestly, the new welcome page is a consequence of a very simple cause: we kept being asked what our site is about, or being asked if we were a gaming site. So we really felt the need to have a welcome page that clearly explained who we are and what we're doing. And we're also proud of our successful authors, some of who are already best-sellers.
that's makes me remember the past, when RRL dedicated for LMS, the translation, fanfiction and discussion. Well, now it's completely independent website. Do your best admin RRL, for the best web of fiction story community. Not sure if you remember the name Straborvsky, that was me, I usually visit art forum but now? i don't even have time for myself. oh, and also I have few unfulfilled drawing request that I haven't finished up till now, lol.
I actually remember you I do visit the art forum at times and your particular art style has piqued my interest~
