LCD Night Ranger

Couple of plot points that fizzled out and in the end it feels like the author threw up his hands and got tired of it all so he slapped in an open ending. Well, I had the feeling this was gonna happen when Marvin got that Unfathomable Ability. Overall with the strong start, decent mid-point, last quarter slump and this meh-ish ending, I'd give the novel a 7/10

For some reason Novelupdates has Night Ranger's Status in COO as 820 Chapters. Guess whoever put that in there was mistaken.

 

wow. i read it. The ending is hot garbage. it kinda sucks that we didn't get to actually see the whole plotline with the Cridlands and Marvin's grandfather play out. at least they explained it though. it kinda felt like watching a movie and then right before the final fight the screen cuts to black and the director comes out and reads the synopsis of the final act of the movie and says "sorry, I got bored" in the credits.

Was thinking of reading this but dropped it around 10-20 chapters in because of the 'Dream teacher' thing. How relevant does the Dream teacher thing stay into the story? If it's a recurring thing, I think I might just stay away.

 

considering i have finished the novel completely and honestly have no idea what you are talking about. i have to assume it never happens again.

 

its the beginning where he explains his knowledge is from a teacher in his dream who crammed years of knowledge into a single night lol

 

I paused at 729 to let chapters stack up and decided to check here to see why there weren't any new releases, only to find out it's already done at 735 and I'd been waiting for no reason!!!! >.<

I'm a bit confused about who "Lance" is suppose to be. Sometimes the way he's mentioned, he feels like a Creator god type character, popping up around the same time as the "Ancient" gods. At other times, they make him out to be a stupidly powerful "mortal" (I even remember a few times them saying he's not a "god" like the rest of the gods.), Maybe even a Reincarnater as well (and I think the "prequel" says something about this).
Overall, the Lore as a whole is very unstable, it seems.

Oh, right, it doesn't have an ending the author gave up because he made the enemies too impossible to defeat.

Been awhile since I finished the novel so some details might be wrong but:

Final boss is the Planar Will of the World itself. It also mind controlled Marvin's waifu Hathaway, and has a bunch of fallen gods as flunkies. Lance's plotting managed to let Marvin obtain a weapon to defeat the Will, but this will end up killing Hathaway. Being the suddenly indecisive MC that he is, Marvin uses UNFATHOMABLE ABILITY that he obtained to stop time for the entire galaxy, while he leaves that entire plane to journey around to find another solution along with that space dragon. The End.
