So Nintendo just anounced the most nintendo thing ever, Nintendo Labo which with the use of cardboard transforms the Joy-cons into diferent peripherals called Toy-cons (seriously) it's mainly directed towards children, what do you guy think about it?

Very Nintendo Idea on a new market to try to exploit. Wonder how Durable the final Product is going to be cause I would hate to get a product that my little ones destroy in less then a month playing with it, but it does look fun and interesting.

My first thought was that it's overpriced and easy to break. But then I found out that they're releasing the cardboard plans for free online (although you still need the software that comes with the kit, obviously). So that means it'll be easy to repair with some extra cardboard, or upgrade with superior materials (like 3d printed or wooden parts, if you want to get really fancy). Seems like a pretty smart move from Nintendo.

That makes it quite the viable market then. I would certainly enjoy this if I were a bit younger. But the potential for this is amazing. You could create so much. If only there was a platform for people to develop and share programs for this market.

Oh, I didn't know about the plans were going to be online for free that is nice to know. Cause that was my concern about the whole thing as I didn't want to invest into a product that wasn't going to last a long time. Then it will come down to storage space.

I still have concerns though, cause this seems a little faddy so I will probably wait and see where this go before I decide to invest into this as it looks fun but seems short lived.

Innovative. But i don't think it will sells. Most kids these days are all about the graphics, shooting, action,... because somehow better graphics = good games:blobwoah:

lol, it looks cool and creative. But I wonder just how long the cardboard will last, or can it be replaced with ordinary cardboard? :blobpeek:

I think this is nintendo cheatin in a good way. They are litterally allowing you to create peripherals for their game and make it seem fun! This will alow them a more precise control to their game motion sensing which was/is the worst weakness to the wii and stuff.

Hmm... If i can make it myself with enough garbage cardboard lying around without the need to buy actual cardboard from Nintendo then i think it's fine.
Or if Nintendo allow third party to sell their own cardboard ( which i doubt it ), It will be even better.
