I am actually looking for some help for coloring and shadowing. I have more problems like anathomy or clothes and wrinkles. But I wanna focus on one at a time. Thank you for your help

 

how much do you usually use reference when drawing?

 

Emm rarely, I only use it for the anathomy. Sometimes I look up some kinds of coloring (like blue flame) but I never can get the color and effect.

 

Search up YouTube videos or provide samples of your work?

 

in that case i imagine you could stand to draw more from reference. like for for drawing clothes, start by literally finding photos of clothes you like and then drawing your character in those specific clothes in the photo? replicating the folds and such shown in the photo.
about shading and stuff like that, what media are you using? pencil? paint? digital?
