Recommendations Non arrogant, non Standard MC

I'm looking for something fresh. Preferably keeping the usual cliches to a minimum. Mostly, I'll be happy if the MC has decent challenges and doesn't just go ...

Hahahaha I'm the MC so anything I do is right, everything I do will go exactly as I planned and I will any competition I end up in despite how long the odds are!

I'll save beauties because only I should molest them
OR
I'm a dark loner who can only make friends with beautiful love interests because my author is a forever-alone -virgin.
OR
I'm so awesome that it takes 10 chapters to mention how awesome everyone thinks I am. Also, it takes more time when I'm moving to a new realm.

Seriously, check out my reading list and see if you know something you think I'd like. I'll even accept arrogance if he mends his ways somewhere down the line.

PS: I've sampled and dropped most of the stuff my major authors like Er Gen, IET, TJSS, Fang Xiang, Fengling Tianxia etc, so something outside them.

I didn't see your reading list, but Rakuin no Monshou is a good one. Also, you are not looking in the right place. Try more standard type literature.

 

Try Spirit Realm

The MC is rather passive in the beginning but he has the tendency to let loose quite brutally when he snaps. And further on he gains a confident will while not being aggressive, except when he was pushed around for a while, while being in a situation that completely favors him. He will use that chance to kick some serious ass.

 

I've tried his novels, but they just seem like copies of each other. I'm currently reading Tempest of the Battlefield, but before when I was reading 2 of his novels simultaneously I got confused between them.

 

Ze Tian Ji~ CCS is not arrogant like other mc's. And he's definitely different compared to other mc's
