I was gonna put in an alien species from one of H.P lovecraft's book, sadly, I forgot the name.

 

Also look into Celtic/British Isles mythology a bit. there are lots of different races
like the

Bogart- which is something like a malevolent house spirit.
Phooka- a goat-headed shapeshifter

lots of inspiration can be found with a little research.

People often refer to things from Harry Potter as if they were J.K. Rowling's complete original ideas. Truth is, most of the creatures that are found in the series have their origins in the older mythologies.

 

Name - Gods who appears in human form
Source- religious belief or too much op.
Description- gods often taking human form as this form is most perfect( according to comics and novel authors) are who exist either due to belief of organisms or due to a being reaching apex of power and refer himself as such.

 

Because normal everyday people wont even know they existed and havent think of researching for em.

Source: Universe Online (one of the best RoyalRoadl novels that unfortunately went into Amazon (Kindle), and the author gave it up (went missing)... I was reading it before all of this and only have the best to say for it.)
Details: I don't remember much, but I think it was an incredibly scientifically advanced race that had a weak body, but had esp(?)
